Big news
If you’ve flown with Iberia Airlines over the past year, you may have received an invitation to enjoy digital newspapers and magazines through PressReader. We’re pleased that Iberia will now offer full digital access to PressReader to all their customers.
Until now, Spanish magazines were available to passengers, but all major Spanish newspapers were only available to those travelling outside of Spain. Now, Spanish newspapers will also be available for travelers using PressReader within Spain —allowing Spanish readers to catch up with home, at home.
A larger catalog with even more choice
This new agreement has expanded the breadth of content available to Spanish travelers. Iberia and PressReader have opened up access to the entire catalog, which means passengers will get unlimited access to more than 7,000 newspapers and magazines from over 120 countries in 60 languages. They’ll be able to download and save as many publications as they like before flying, including major Spanish newspapers like La Vanguardia, La Voz de Galicia, AS, and El Periódico de Cataluña, international favorites like The Guardian, Clarin, The Washington Post, and popular magazines Vogue, GQ, Diez Minutos, and Mi Casa.
The commitment to green
Iberia is committed to operating in an eco-friendly way while offering passengers more choice than ever. PressReader aligns nicely with Iberia’s sustainability goals: to help lower carbon emissions, reduce paper waste in lounges and on airplanes, and improve fuel consumption. With PressReader’s zero-waste digital platform onboard, Iberia has reduced 640 tons of paper and cut 615 tons of Co2 emissions per year.
Iberia has also integrated PressReader right into their app experience, making it easier for passengers to get quick access to news and entertainment at every stage of their journey. Eligible passengers can simply launch PressReader from the Iberia app before they flight, and download as much content as they like to their device.
Passengers can activate their complimentary PressReader access in three different ways:
- Entering their booking reference number in the Iberia app
- Clicking a link in their pre-boarding email
- Using an access code provided in the Iberia lounge
