JAY JAY NARRATES CRUEL TORTURE

Mr Banda, the Petauke Member of Parliament, currently in Maina Soko Hospital has made a formal complaint against Mr Ngoma, Mr Hamasaka and Mr Mwiinde to the Inspector General of Police, disclosing that he was officially and formally informing the police because he had identified and spoken to his alleged abductor during the time he was in captive being tortured.

In a letter to the Inspector General of Police Graphael Musamba dated 10 June 2024, Jay Jay Banda disclosed that on the fateful day, he was ambushed and abducted by about eight assailants, shoved into the boot of a car he believes could have been Toyota Corolla and taken to some unknown place and kept in a house where he was excruciati­ngly tortured.

In the letter to Mr Musamba, through his lawywers Central Chambers and Makebi Zulu and Advocates, Jay Jay Banda has narrated how he was abducted, tortured and eventually abandoned in Kafue before he was rescued by his family and the police who have since turned him into a suspect instead of a victim.

“I am making this complaint for a second time to the authoritie­s regarding people I identified as my abductors and where I was being kept captive. I hope you will now carry out investigat­ions on the people I have named. These are Levy Ngoma the President’s Political Advisor, Clayson Hamasaka the President’s Chief Communicat­ions Specialist and Trevor Mwiinde the UPND deputy national youth chairperso­n,” Mr Banda said.

He explained that his abductors were also integratin­g him over who was allegedly passing informatio­n from the law enforcemen­t agencies to former President Lungu and other members of the opposition.

Mr Banda also disclosed that his abductors accused him of have had several meetings with Friday Nyambe, the Director General of the Zambia Intelligen­ce and Security Service ( ZISS), whom they have accused of meeting former President Lungu regularly.

“I was asked whom in the Office of the President we were working with. They asked who I was working with. They also repeatedly asked how many times and where I met with a Mr. Nyambe ( Friday). They said; “Amabwela kuli Edgar. Ama bwela banthu bwanji?” but I repeatedly stated that I did not know him and never met him at the former President’s residence,” he narrated.

Mr Banda stated that Mr Ngoma, Mr Hamasaka and Mr Mwiinde were on several occasions during the time he was being kept captive and tortured asked him to cooperate and assured him that all was going to be well. “Levy Ngoma the Presidents Political Advisor, Clayson Hamasaka the President’s Chief Communicat­ions Specialist and Trevor Mwiinde the UPND Deputy National Youth Chairperso­n were on several occasions asking me to cooperate saying all would be well. The three came in at different times. Sometimes solo and sometimes in pairs. On one occasion they were all there,” Mr Banda said.
