FAKE UKA HASTILY REGISTERED

-

He has since urged UKA members countrywide to get ready for mass actions to defend the country’s democracy daring Mr Graphael Musamba, the Inspector General of Police to create enough room in the police cells across the country. “We wish to strongly warn President Hakainde Hichilema, Jack Mwiimbu and Thabo Kawana that such imingalato (tricks) shall be met with equal force from UKA. It is now clear to UKA that we are dealing with uncivil, unreasonable and uncouth characters, UKA shall respond accordingly, we have talked enough,” Mr Silavwe warned. Mr Silavwe said all the UKA presidents were prepared to be arrested alongside people in defense of cherished freedoms and democracy.

“UKA leaders shall lead from the front and willing to pay any sacrifice deemed fit by Hichilema’s Government,” he stated.

Mr Silavwe said the State had applied extreme inertia to register UKA and had resorted to peddling cheap lies.

After Zambians voted for UPND hoping for decency, they are disappointed that democracy was being pulverized as UKA, an alliance of about 10 political parties and a mass movement organisation has now been blocked from being registered via the registration of the Unified Knowledge of Africa.

And Heritage Party president Chishala Kateka revealed on her Facebook page that the new UPND backed UKA was registered by the Registrar of Societies under receipt # 0037096882578896 and trans ID 9804451979556698.

The move is a demonstration of shrinking democratic space which President Hakainde Hichilema condemned while in opposition as the real UKA will be considered illegal.

UKA member and National Democratic Congress (NDC) president Saboi Imboela said the Council received confirmed reports that the State registered the fake UKA in a bid to block the real UKA.
