GOVT DEMANDS FOR INCLUSIVE, EQUITABLE EDUCATIONAL LANDSCAPE
GOVERNMENT has urged the stakeholders in the education sector to create a more inclusive and equitable educational landscape that empowers every learner to thrive.
Ministry of Education Assistant Director Specialised Services Mwenya Mwamba said, this can be achieved the stakeholders work hand in hand with the government.
Speaking during the inclusion conference at Baobab College school yesterday, Dr Mwamba said stakeholders need have a common goal to create a conducive environment for learners.
“As we convene to discuss and advance the principles of inclusive education, let us seize this opportunity to learn, collaborate, and inspire one another.
together, we can create a more inclusive and equitable educational landscape that empowers every learner to thrive,”Dr Mwamba said.
He further said the hosting and presence of Baobab college school at this year’s conference are a testament to its forward-thinking approach and its status as an outstanding international school that understands the key role of inclusion in education.
Meanwhile, Chairperson of the International Forums of Inclusion Practitioners (IFIP) Daniel Sobel said, his organisation is pushing to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals under the United Nations to enhance inclusive education and make it a reality.
Mr Sobel said this can be done through best practice.
And Baobab acting Principal Jon Turner said it is a rare opportunity for the school to have global experts to learn from and discuss the importance of inclusion in professional practice.
