Brandon Hunter Marks
Brandon Hunter Marks, 27, of Winterhaven, CA, passed away on July 5, 2024. Brandon was born to Marlene Barley and Jeffery Marks in Yuma, AZ on February 14, 1997.
Brandon graduated from San Pasqual Valley Unified School District. He was also a Tribal Member of the Quechan Indian Tribe. During his high school years, he was a two-sport letterman athlete, excelling in Football and Wrestling. He was particularly proud of holding the SP Native Royalty title 2015 Kwanamii “Warrior” a testament of his Quechan Pride that allowed him to share his knowledge and respect for his Native Culture, Traditions and Songs.
Brandon worked many years for the Quechan Indian Tribe as a Laborer. He was a true optimist, always looking on the bright side of things and spreading joy to those around him. Brandon was a father, a son, a brother, an uncle, a cousin, a nephew and a friend to all. He was loved by many people. His hugs and his radiant smile will forever leave an everlasting memory in our hearts and will deeply be missed by all.
He loved attending UFC Fights, Dodgers Games, and his favorite country artist concerts. He loved playing 10,000, cooking up some good grub on the grill, Jamin' his tunes; singing his heart and soul out. But most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Brandon is survived by his spouse, Jessica Roosevelt; daughter, Avery Marks; son, Brandon Marks Jr; father, Jeffery Marks, brothers, Ryan Marks and Justin Marks; sister, Kayla Martinez; nephews, Ryan Marks Dominguez and Raiden Marks Dominguez, and grandfather, Marlowe Barley Sr. As the oldest grandson, he also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles and cousins that cherished him dearly.
He is proceeded in death by, his mother, Marlene Barley; grandmother, Marveen Brown; great grandparents, Fritz and Alice Brown; Owen and Doris Barley; great aunts, Georgina Massey, Marilyn Brown; cousin, Alicia Brown, and great uncle, Douglas Osborne.
Viewing services will be held at the Yuma Mortuary from 2:00 to 4:30 pm on Saturday, July 13, 2024. Tribal Rites to follow at the Quechan Big house at 5:00 pm. Cremation will be held Sunday, July 14, 2024 at 5:00am.
