Haggard, Walker earn 6-AAA baseball honors
Fresh off a region championship, Ringgold’s Sebastian Haggard was named the 6-AAA Baseball Player of the Year by the region’s coaches, while Tigers’ skipper Drew Walker was named as the region’s Coach of the Year.
Haggard was joined on the first team by teammates Jackson Black, Aidan Hickman, Conner Christopher, Eli Crew and Haddon Fries.
Region runner-up Gordon Lee put five players on the first team. That list included Dustin Day, Peyton Groce, Jackson Scali, Maddox Millard and Aiden Goodwin.
Eli Walker, Jacob Gregg and Carson Goff were named to the first team from LFO. Isaiah McKenzie, Brady Wilson and Caden Carpenter made the first team from LaFayette, while Will Henderson and Wyatt Blevins were selected from Ridgeland.
The rest of the first team selections include Peyton Bowen, Jarrett Scott, Braxton Ryan,
Jack Nelson and P.J. Weeks (Adairsville), Jake Steed, Slade Bishop, Jonah Hatchett, Aiden
Price and Dylan Huey (Bremen), and Keith Collins and Isaiah Hernandez (Coahulla Creek).
Earning second team honors were Garrett Edgar and Hudson Moss (Ringgold), Ty Thompson and Adkin Finch (Gordon Lee), Brock Donahoo and Kendall Chumley (LFO), Brennon Beavers and Hunter Jefferies (LaFayette), and Hunter Medrano and Ethan Waters (Ridgeland), along with Ryan Farr and McCayden Hufstetler (Adairsville), Caden Johnson and Cooper Mincey (Bremen) and Luke Swiney and Tyler Douglas (Coahulla Creek).
The honorable mention list included Ryder Fairchild and Phillip Johnson (Ringgold), Landon Norton and Garrett Ross (Gordon Lee), Grayden Johnson and Wyatt Huling (LFO), Mason Sorsveen and Bryce Careathers (LaFayette), Gavyn Hughley and Ronnie Franklin (Ridgeland), Hudson Farr and Landon O’Neal (Adairsville) and Owen Millians (Bremen).
