James “Jim” Stringer, 74, Tower City, ND, passed away at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND on September 14, 2024. His memorial service will be 2:00 PM, Friday, September 27 in the Lerud Mathias Funeral Home Chapel, Valley City, ND. Visitation will be in the chapel, Thursday, September 26 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a prayer service beginning at 7:00.
Visitation will continue the hour prior to the service on Friday. The service will be live streamed, then archived, on a link provided along with his obituary on his tribute page at www.lerudmathias.com. An online guestbook is available there as well.
James “Jim” Lee Stringer, the son of David “Kenneth” and Jeannette (Buck) Stringer, was born January 27, 1950 in Valley City, ND. Jim grew up and attended school in Tower City, ND where he was a lifelong well-known resident. Jim married Shirley
Earles on June 18, 1982 at Faith Lutheran Church in Valley City. They lived on the family farm near Tower City and had many adventures together and with friends camping and fishing. Jim was a very kind and gentle man who was loved by everyone.
Jim is survived by his wife Shirley, Tower City, ND; his children, John Stringer, Lora (John) Keller, Mobridge, SD, Dennis (Pennie) Reinke, Tower City, ND and Andy (Jana) Reinke, Fargo, ND; a brother, Dave (Carol) Stringer, Timnath, CO; a sister, Gladys Stringer, Springfield, VA; six Granddaughters, two Grandsons; four great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Roger and Art Stringer.
