*Barnes County Veterans Service Office Veterans Coffee Hour welcomes BC Veterans to a meet and greet with other area veterans every third Wednesday of the month from 10 a.m.12 noon. Office is located at 575 10th St SW, Suite #7, Valley City (same building as Sheriff’s Office). Refreshments and treats will be provided.
*Barnes County Museum, is open and welcoming visitors from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Saturday, closed on Sundays. The museum is located at 315 Central Ave N, Valley City. Call Wes at 701-845-0966 for tour and additional information.
*St. Catherine Quilters make quilts for those in need, meeting every Thursday from 1-4:30 p.m. and 6:30-9 p.m. in the basement gym of St. Catherine School. All are welcome, no experience necessary and supplies are provided. Questions call Christine 701-840-2580 or Lela 701845-8352.

• Sibley Days 2024 Celebration will be held Saturday, July 13th in Sibley, ND. Kids fishing derby (12 and under) 9-10 a.m.; Kids Carnival and Coins in the Sand fun 10-11 a.m. Please preregister for tie-dye t-shirts at the general store by July 2nd to guarantee correct size. Hot dogs and ice cream to follow; Parade 1 p.m.. • 15th annual Sweet N’ Stickey in Dickey Rib CookOff will be held Saturday, July 13th with all proceeds going to Hospice of the Red River Valley. Serving at 6 p.m. at the Dickey Town Hall. • Valley City Monthly Bluegrass Jam Sessions, Saturday, July 13th starting at 11 a.m.-noon with a beginning jam/class and 1-5 p.m. for the regular jam session. Acoustic bluegrass instruments allowed at the regular jam are the six-string guitar, the fiddle, the 5-string banjo, the mandolin, upright bass, and the Dobro slide-guitar. The ukulele is also allowed during the beginning jam/ class. Instruments will be on hand to try out. • Pioneer Park Ampitheatre, returns for the summer, with programs every Sunday evening. Entertainment by The DeMasi Brothers, will take the stage Sunday, July 14th at 5:30 p.m. If the weather does not permit, they will be in the Larry Robinson Performing Arts Building, located on the VCSU Campus.

Mon., July 15
• Valley City Farmers Market will be held every Monday and Thursday, in the Handy Home & Hardware parking lot from 4-6 p.m. and will continue on, throughout the season. New vendors are always welcome to participate in the Farmers Market. If you’d like to get involved, stop down at the market on a Monday or Thursday for a visit or give Carla a call at 701-840-3224.
• Freestone Peaches and Bing Cherries will be for sale with The Fruit Truck on July 15th in the parking lot of Handy Home & Hardware, 727 15th Ave SW, Valley City, ND from 10-10:30 a.m.
• Abused Person Outreach Center Spaghetti Supper Fundraiser will be held Monday, July 15th, 5-7 p.m., at the Eagles Club.

Tues., July 16
• Barnes County Senior Center menu: Rope sausage, mashed potatoes, sauerkraut, cauliflower, apple slices. Activities: 1:00 -PM - Pinochle.
Wed., July 17
• VCPR Music in Park Wednesday, July 17th with the Hallelu (Japanese Group), performing on the historic City Park Bandshell. The programs begin at 7:15 p.m. every Wednesday evening through the summer. If the weather does not permit, they will be in held the Larry Robinson Performing Arts Building Performance Hall, located on the VCSU Campus. Each week a free will donation is taken and put towards the continued programs at the bandshell. Bring a lawn chair, blanket/ jacket and enjoy the outdoors and beauty of the City Park located on 4th St. SW. For more information contact 701-840-1743.
