Trucking industry Safety Expo planned in Fargo on June 22

-

The North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP) and North Dakota Motor Carrier Association (NDMCA) encourage the media and the public to join us Saturday, June 22, 2024, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., at the Holiday Inn Fargo for an exciting event focused on highway and road safety.

The safety expo includes a "Touch a Truck" event where attendees can get up close and personal with a fascinating array of vehicles and big equipment. In addition, the North Dakota Truck Diving Championships, part of the National Truck Driving Championships, will take place during the Safety Expo.

At the event, skilled drivers showcase their precision, professionalism, and expertise through a series of tests. These tests include a written examination, pre-trip inspection test, and a skills test. Each participating driver must be accident-free for at least one year prior to the competition.

Winners of the event go on to the national level of competition.

Four NDHP Troopers will serve as judges for the event. NDHP Motor Carrier Sergeant Jed Dahnke stated, “Our Troopers are looking forward to assisting the NDMCA with finding the best truck drivers in North Dakota. This is one of the rare occasions when drivers, industry, and law enforcement get to spend time together and learn from each other in a non-enforcement environment. Having been a part of this event in the past I know how serious the competition is but remains a fun experience for everyone involved. I wish all drivers the best of luck and look forward to seeing everyone on June 22.”
