L-M-M competes at Ellendale Invitation­al and Eureka Legion meets

The LaMoure/Litchville-Marion track and field teams split and went to two different meets, sending a small contingent to both Ellendale for the Ellendale Invitation­al and Eureka, South Dakota to the Eureka Legion Meet.

The Loboes did not have any state qualifiers at either meet. In Ellendale they had three first place winners and five total place winners.

Bailie Kelley was the one girl that competed and she took first in the shot put with a throw of 35’0. She missed qualifying for state by six inches.

For the boys, Preston Arndt was first in the shot put with a throw of 41’3.5 and Jake Kramer was first in the discus with a throw of 139’6. Kramer placed fourth in the shot put with a throw of 35’4.5. Tucker Jones was tenth in the shot put and seventh in the javelin with a throw of 94’10.

The Kelley scored ten points for the girls and they placed sixth. The boys scored 27 points and placed fifth.

A larger group of athletes went to Eureka, South Dakota for the Eureka Legion Meet. The Loboes had three first place winners and 16 place winners.

For the girls, Onika Lesko was first in the 100 Meters with a time of 13.85. The 4x100 Relay team of Kenzie Amerman, Addison Smith, Lily

Kramer and Onika Lesko took first with a time of 53.47. Smith, Kramer, Lesko and Jada Smith took second in the 4x400 with a time of 4:28.32. Lulu Loegering was second in the 1600 Meters and fifth in the 3200 Meters with times of 6:02.03 and 13:12.19 respective­ly. Jada Smith was fourth in the 400 Meters with a time of 1:09.72. She was also ninth in the 100 Meters. Julia DelaBarre was sixth in the 200 Meters with a time of 31.43 and she was fifth in the shot put with a throw of 29’4. Kenzie Amerman was fourth in the long jump and third in the triple jump with jumps of 14’1 and 32’4 respective­ly. Addison Smith was sixth in the triple jump with a jump of 30’8.5 and Lily Kramer was eighth with a jump of 30’4.5.

As a team the girls scored 67 points and placed fifth as a team.

Max Musland led the boys, scoring 21 points. He was first in the 200 Meter with a time of 24.49, third in the 100 Meters with a time of 12.27 and fourth in the 400 Meters with a time of 58.21. He was also twelfth in the long jump. Cody Briggs also competed for the Loboes in four events. He was fifth in the triple jump with a jump of 34’5, eleventh in the long jump, 14th in the 100 Meters and 22nd in the 200 Meters.

As a team, the two scored 25 points which was good enough for eleventh place.
