VC/Jmst. Swim & Dive team season opener
The Jamestown Swimming and diving team opened up the season with two meets in Williston.
In the first meet, the Jays split a triangular with Dickinson and Williston. They lost to host Williston 111-73, but topped Dickinson 93-86.
The Blue Jays stayed in Williston for another meet and took second as a team with 469 points. Williston was first with 597 and Dickinson third with 430.
In the first meet, the Jays had three first place finishers and four second place.
Finn Moser was first in the 200 Freestyle with a time of 1:54.84. Bodi Haglund was first in the 50 Freestyle with a time of 23.54. Kaden Fabian was first in the 100 Backstroke with a time of 1:01.33.
Moser was second in the 500 Freestyle with a time of 5:30.87. Haglund was second in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:08.68.
In the relays, the team of Fabian, Haglund, Moser and Caleb Fabian took second with a time of 1:48.12 in the 200 Yard Medley.
In the 200 Freestyle relay the team of Mason Gibson, Noah Lynch, Zach Hanson and Haglund took second with a time of 1:36.92. In the second meet, the Blue Jays had four first place finishers and five second place finishers.
Individually, Kaden Fabian was first in the 200 Free, Finn Moser was first in the 200 IM. Bodi Haglund was second in the 50 Free and the 100 Breaststroke, Zach Hanson was second in the 100 Free and Fabian was second in the 500 Freestyle.
In the relays, the team of Caleb Fabian, Haglund, Finn Moser and Zach Hanson too first in the 200 Medley. Haglund, Hanson, Kaden Fabian and Moser were first in the 200 Freestyle.
The team of Caleb Fabian, Kaden Fabian, Tyler Klabo and Noah Lynch took second in the 400 Freestyle.
The Blue Jays have 22 swimmers and divers on this year’s team, 16 are returning. Bodi Haglund is the lone Valley City Hi-Liner that swims for the Blue Jays. The team is coached by Ben Smith, Jacob Burkart and Noah Haglund.
