Abington

A resident reported Jan. 10 receiving fraudulent charges on her debit card totaling $1,.244, police said. The victim said in November a male stole shopping bags hanging off the back of her stroller as she placed her son in her vehicle at the Willow Grove Park Mall, police said.

A woman reported her purse, containing a driver’s license, $500 cash, $100 in gift cards, credit cards, membership cards and a bank card, was stolen around 4 p.m. Jan. 10 at the CVS, 2870 Moreland Road, police said.

A male and female were arrested at 2:27 p.m. Jan. 14 after taking $1,118 worth of goods from Target., 1495 Old York Road, police said.

Three males stole three jackets, valued at $260, from TJMaxx, 1495 Old York Road, around 6:30 p.m. Jan. 12, police said. The same night a female stole winter jackets valued at $640, police said.

A former valet at Abington Memorial Hospital reported Jan. 13 a gun, valued at $500, that was under the driver’s seat of his vehicle was stolen within the past couple days, police said.

A male stole a jacket from Nordstrom Rack, 2500 Moreland Road, at 1:39 p.m. Jan. 13, police said.

A resident of the 1400 block of Doris Road reported a wallet was stolen from a truck in the driveway between 8 p.m. Jan. 13 and 9:30 a.m. Jan. 14, when the victim noticed $1,200 in fraudulent charges to a credit card, police said. Another card had been used twice to charge $5,506 and $535 and $70 cash was taken, police said.

A black and green SE Creature BMX style bike, valued at $600, was stolen overnight Jan. 14 from the side of a home in the 200 block of Ruscombe Avenue, police said.

A male and female were taken into custody at 6 p.m. Jan. 15 after stealing $198 worth of detergent from Acme, 323 Old York Road, police said.

A gun was stolen from the center console of a vehicle believed locked in the 2800 block of Moreland Road between 8:30 p.m. Jan.13 and 5:30 p.m. Jan. 15, police said.

Two females stole $200 worth of goods from Wawa, 816 Old York Road, at 9:18 p.m. Jan. 15, police said.

Joel Smith, 42, of Highland Avenue, Lansdowne, was charged with robbery, retail theft and receiving stolen property Jan. 12 in the 1400 block of Old York Road, police said.

A 44-yearold woman of Pershing Avenue, Roslyn, was charged with retail theft and receiving stolen property Dec. 25 in the 2300 block of Susquehann­a Road, police said.

ASSAULT >> Matthew Tyer, 25, of Wellington Road, Jenkintown, was charged Dec. 15 with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct in connection with a Nov. 27 incident in the 1200 block of Old York Road, police said. DUI >> A 59-year-old man of Broad Street, Philadelph­ia, was charged Dec. 26 with driving under the influence and receiving stolen property after being stopped in the 1000 block of Maple Avenue, police said.

ASSAULT >> Stephan Smith, 28, of the 6000 block of Crescentvi­lle Road, Philadelph­ia, was charged with aggravated assault on police, burglary, criminal trespass, resisting arrest, simple assault, recklessly endangerin­g another person, criminal mischief and harassment, following a domestic incident at 9:15 a.m. Jan. 8 in the 2100 block of North John Russell Circle, and fighting with a police officer, police said. Both the victim and the officer suffered minor injuries, police said.

AUTO THEFT >> A 2017 white, Hyundai Tucson with a laptop and tennis rackets inside was reported stolen at 9:20 a.m. Jan. 8 from the driveway of a home in the 500 block of Beecher Avenue, police said.

FRAUD >> A person reported at 12:49 p.m. Jan. 8 allowing a male to replace the gas pump for the victim at Wawa, 8250 Limekiln Pike, after which the victim’s credit card was charged for gas for other vehicles, police said.

THEFT >> A CZ P10C 9mm handgun was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 8100 block of Jenkintown Road at 4:56 p.m. Jan. 8, police said.

FRAUD >> A resident reported Jan. 8 various online accounts had been fraudulent­ly charged, police said.

GUNSHOT >> A resident of the 700 block of Foster Road reported a single shot was fired at the house at 12:12 a.m. Jan. 9, police said. Investigat­ion ongoing. DAMAGE >> The rear passenger side window of a vehicle in the 1900 block of Cheltenham Avenue was found broken at 3:30 p.m. Jan. 9, police said.

THEFT >> A blue children’s cart, valued at $100, was reported stolen at 5:52 p.m. Jan. 9 from the vestibule of a building at the Towers at Wyncote in the 8400 block of Limekiln Pike, police said.

RETAIL THEFT >> A female stole $300 worth of merchandis­e from Burlington Coat Factory, 2471 Cheltenham Ave., at 9:24 a.m. Jan. 10 and left in a dark colored, four-door sedan with tinted windows, police said.

FRAUD >> A resident reported Jan. 10 the victim’s identity was hacked through Facebook, police said.

RETAIL THEFT >> A female stole more than $200 worth of goods from Burlington Coat Factory, 2471 W. Cheltenham Ave., at 10 a.m. Jan. 17, police said. THEFT >> A male who paid a relative $11,000 at 12:07 p.m. Jan. 17 outside Target, 2450 Shoppers Lane, to buy a Chevy Impala was duped by the relative who took the money and did not provide the vehicle, police said. BAD CHECKS >> A resident reported Jan. 18 receiving checks for online work that required money to be sent back and subsequent­ly finding out the checks were fraudulent, police said. Another resident reported Jan. 19 starting to work for an online company, which sent her a check for $4,000, but her bank said it was fraudulent, police said. THREAT >> A male and female in a dark colored Toyota Camry attempted to steal snow/ice melting product at 3 p.m. Jan. 19 at Shop Rite, and when confronted by a plow driver, the male flashed a handgun before fleeing, police said. THEFT >> A resident of the 7700 block of Penrose Avenue reported packages delivered Jan.19 were stolen, police said.

RETAIL THEFT >> Four to five young males wearing all black clothing took an unknown number of snacks and several cardboard boxes of unshelved merchandis­e from Walgreens, 2727 W. Cheltenham Ave., at 6:08 p.m. Jan. 20, police said.

AUTO THEFT >> A 2008 Buick, PA tag MCW1548, was reported stolen Jan. 21 during November 2023 from Midas, 8141 Ogontz Ave., police said.

RETAIL THEFT >> A Black male in his 20s, wearing a dark jacket, green Eagles hat and gray Puma sweatpants, stole a carton of cigarettes from Wawa, 200 S. Easton Road, at 6:07 p.m. Jan. 21, police said. THREAT >> A female pulled a handgun on an employee at Walmart, 1000 S. Easton Road, at 9:24 p.m. Jan. 21 and left in a white SUV, police said.

A 38-year-old Philadelph­ia man was charged with driving under the influence, accidents involving death or injury while not licensed and careless driving Jan. 16 in connection with an Oct. 27 accident, online court records show.
