Caputo Named to NESCAC Honor Roll

Cole Palmeri opened his senior campaign at Colby in style, going 4-for-5 with doubles in each of the first two innings, a single in the third, a triple in the sixth and scored runs in four of the first seven innings against Maine-Farmington in the season opener

A free pass in the seventh inning put Palmeri on base in five of six appearance­s. Colby won the game, 24-6. The former Hun standout is coming off a 2023 season in which he batted .313 with eight home runs. He was an All-NESCAC selection as a catcher.

Calvin Caputo (Princeton Day) posted career-highs of eight goals and eight points in Williams 14-13 triumph over Babson in the Ephs’ seasonopen­er.

The eight goals and eight points led all players in the game. Caputo, a senior, scored five goals in the first quarter. ***

Men’s Basketball: Mike Kane (Notre Dame) had 12 points and eight rebounds in Widener’s NCAA win over Roger Williams and he had 13 points and six rebounds in a regional final loss to Christophe­r Newport.

Men’s Lacrosse: Coby Auslander (Princeton Day) has three goals and three assists in Christophe­r Newport’s win over Grove City. … Luke Okupski (Notre Dame) had two goals in Fairfield’s win over Providence. … Michael Quigg (Hightstown) had two caused turnovers for Monmouth in an overtime win against Mt.
