CULTURE & CREATORS VISUAL ARTS
FESTIVAL organized by the Northern Rio Grande National Heritage Area, returns for Sept. 13–15 and 21–22 to celebrate Northern New Mexico through artistic expressions, live demonstrations of traditional art methods, exhibitions, and interactive workshops. 2024 Featured Artist Wesley Vigil will present his mesmerizing blend of traditional Pueblo pottery techniques and contemporary storytelling. TAOS YOUTH FLIGHT RALLY will give Taos area youth ages 8-17 a chance to take to the skies on Saturday, Oct. 19 at the Taos Regional Airport. Pilots will give free airplane rides and explain how their airplanes work. Registration forms need to be completed and returned to the Taos Youth & Family Center, 407 Paseo del Cañon East, by Monday, Oct. 7 A drawing held Tuesday, Oct. 8 will select 70 participants at random to be contacted on Wednesday, Oct. 9 to schedule a flight time. Flights will run 7:30–11 a.m. All youth must be pre-registered and accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Event is weather permitting and depends on pilot availability.
