It didn’t take long for Scott Capraro to get back into the swing of things last weekend at Trull Brook Golf Course in Tewksbury.

The Tewksbury resident is the newest member to join the hole-in-one club, acing the 15th hole at Trull Brook on Saturday.

“My first time out and it feels pretty awesome,” said Capraro. “It felt unreal, and still feels unreal.”

One of the most scenic areas on the course, hole 15 is a beautiful par 3 which was once voted the most picturesque hole in New England.

A 178-foot down hill shot with the Merrimack River serving as its backdrop, the hole’s green slopes back to front, prompting many golfers to try to keep it under the hole. Playing as part of a trio with his brother, Ryan Capraro and friend, Paul Tosto, the Tewksbury resident led off the round reached for his trusty 7-iron from the elevated tee box.

“I teed off before everyone,” said Capraro. “It cut from left to right and landed on the green. It took one bounce, and we just watched it roll towards the hole. It disappeared and we all started screaming.”

A lifelong golfer, Capraro didn’t start taking the sport seriously until a few years ago. The 33-year-old electrician now plays regularly in a league on Wednesday. He sports a 4-handicap.

It was Capraro’s first visit to Trull Brook this season, and most certainly not his last, with the image of the shot still burned in his mind.

“It was a good view to see the ball go into the hole,” said Capraro.
