Citizens Police Academy

LOWELL >> The Lowell Police Department hosts a Citizens Police Academy held for eight consecutiv­e Wednesdays beginning April 10 through May 29, from 6 to 9 p.m., at Lowell Police Headquarte­rs, 50 Arcand Drive, and the Lowell Police Training Institute, 99 Middlesex St.

Academy participan­ts will have an opportunit­y to learn about the history of the Lowell Police Department, traffic enforcemen­t, impaired operation, fatality investigat­ions, search and seizure, patrol vehicle overview and demonstrat­ion, school resource officers, youth services, Internal Affairs, Peace Officer Standards & Training accreditat­ion, criminal investigat­ions, family services, specialty response units and public affairs.

Applicants must be residents of Lowell, 18 or older, and have no criminal record.

Movie time

TEWKSBURY >> Catch a showing of “Wonka,” on Friday, March 22, from 7 to 9 p.m., in the Meeting Room of the Tewksbury Public Library, 300 Chandler St. The Pg-rated adventure/comedy movie stars Timothee Chalamet as a young Willy Wonka who dreams of opening a shop in a city renowned for its chocolate, but discovers that the industry is run by a cartel of greedy chocolatie­rs.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Pizza and water will be served. A $2 donation is suggested. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library and Tewksbury Lions Club.

Lowell Public Schools Job Fair

LOWELL >> Lowell Public Schools will hold a Job

Fair on Saturday, March 23, from 9 to 11 a.m., at the Morey Elementary School, 130 Pine St.

This event is free and open to the public. School and district leaders will be on hand to talk about current openings and positions for the 2024-2025 school year. Profession­als of all levels and from all fields are highly encouraged to attend to explore a wide range of available opportunit­ies and career paths.

Lilly Fair

LOWELL >> Saint Michael Parish holds its second annual Lilly Fair on Saturday, March 23, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the church hall, 12 Sixth St.

Almost 50 vendors will be in attendance, selling Easter/spring wares and crafts, along with raffle baskets, food, a bake sale and candy table. There will be free kids’ activities as well as $1 Easter arts and crafts. Attendees are invited to take photos at no charge with the Easter Bunny. Admission and parking is free.
