In this edition of the Section 2 high school sports roundup, we take a look at some recent action on the hardwood in both boys and girls basketball. BOYS BASKETBALL TROY 61, COLUMBIA 65: After trailing in the first half, the Flying Horses went on a 20-7 run in the third quarter but the Blue Devils used a 19-15 fourth frame to hold on for the victory. For Columbia, Evan Rainville poured in 25 points and Zander Poissant notched 14. For Troy, Stetson Merritt topped all scorers with 36 and Legend Merritt posted 21.

HOOSIC VALLEY 41, HOOSICK FALLS 43: On senior night, Hoosick Falls held on for its eighth consecutiv­e victory. Mat Kempf led the Panthers with 11 points in the victory. Chris Jones topped all scorers for the Indians with 16 in the loss.

MECHANICVI­LLE 82, TAMARAC 57: Mechanicvi­lle took control with a 24-6 lead after one. The Red Raiders displayed a balanced attack, as Joseph Devito scored 20, Colin Richardson posted 19, Cruz Goverski notched 17 and Austin Rozowicz added a dozen in the victory. Richardson is 34 shy of 1,000 for his career. Adam Rice posted 31 points and eight boards for the Bengals and Kamerin Edmonds added 13.

CBA 65, AVERILL PARK 28: The Brothers took every quarter against the Warriors. Leading the Brothers’ was Jt Vogel with 21 points and Jj Osinski with 20. Ethan Nardacci paced the Warriors with 11 points.

COHOES 70, VOORHEESVI­LLE 56: Topping the Tigers in points was Marquay Tanksley with 26, Skye Keparutis contributi­ng 15 and Cole Murley chipping in 13. Leading the Blackbirds in defeat was Brady Eitleman with 20 points.

SCHALMONT 56, LA SALLE INSTITUTE 82: Leading the Cadets to victory was Davon Maloney posting 30 points, Emmanuel Karkari-Mensah posting 17 and Treddy Faison adding 12. Isaiah Smith paced the Sabres with 28 points.

GIRLS BASKETBALL RAVENA 35, LA SALLE INSTITUTE 48: On Saturday, the Cadets topped the Indians. Leading the Cadets to victory were Kate Gilooly and Moria Galuski with 17 points apiece. Pacing the Indi

ans was Patricia Dorrance with 14 points.

MAPLE HILL 56, WATERVLIET 42: With a 23-9 fourth frame, the Wildcats pulled away from the Cannoneers. Sydney Rogers led the Wildcats with 27 points and Rosilee Forrest notched 20. Leniyah Leslie drained three triples on a 13-point evening for the Cannoneers.

CATHOLIC CENTRAL 79, HOLY NAMES 47: Leading the Crusaders to victory was Navii Turpin with 18 points, Dior Dobere notched 15, Kris Foglia posted 13 and both Ella DiBacco and Akarri Gaddy added 11 for a balanced attack. Holy Names was paced by Sophia Bologna’s 19 points.

HOOSICK FALLS 57, WATERFORD-HALFMOON 57: On Thursday, the Panthers topped the Fordians.

Ava Case paced the Panthers with 16, while Mackenna Roberson totaled 15. Maddy Atwood led all scorers with 17 for the Fordians.
