John D. Coldeberg

PLYMOUTH — John D. Coldeberg, 90, of Plymouth passed away peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 24, 2023, and is now walking through the gardens with Fern.

John was born on April 26, 1933 in Lakeville, IN to the late John C. and Matilda Mae (Gylg) Coldeberg.

John graduated from Milford High School in 1951 then joined the United States Navy, proudly serving his country for 4 years. He then worked for Dodge Manufactur­ing for 24 years as a Machinist and Cost Estimator, retiring in 1996.

John married Fern Arlene Sheneman on Nov. 16, 1963, sharing 58 years of marriage before her passing in 2021.

John enjoyed photograph­y, woodworkin­g, and camping. He loved his family and the time he got to spend with them.

John is survived by his sisters; Sue Kovatch and Christa Coldeberg and his nieces and nephews; Dennis (Nancy) Potoczky, Steven (Michelle) Potoczky, Michael (Katina) Grimm, Dennis Kovatch, Margaret Richardson, Stephanie (James) Bell, and Julie (Brett) Stevens along with many great nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his wife, Fern Coldeberg, his parents, John and Matilda Coldeberg, his siblings; Alice Garner, Mary Lou Willis, Barbara Coldeberg, Margie Peregrine, Joan Grimm, and Donald Coldeberg. John was also preceded in death by his nephew Joseph Potoczky and great-niece Amanda Potoczky.

Burial services will be planned for a later date at Westlawn Cemetery in North Liberty with military honors.
