The Oklahoman’s fall sport girls athletes of the week poll for Aug. 25-31 presented by Landmark Fine Homes is now live at oklahoman.com. Voting is open until noon Sunday. Here are this week’s nominees:

Saige Bacon, Sr., Choctaw softball:

Bacon, a Tulsa commit, is batting .436 with a .489 on-base percentage and scoring 17 runs while leading the Yellowjack­ets to a 12-2 record.

Kaylee Baxter, So., Southmoore softball Baxter is the starting third baseman for the SaberCats, and is leading the team while batting .429. She is also leading the team in doubles, triples, and on-base-plus-slugging percentage.

Mia Benson, Sr., Moore volleyball:

Benson has led the Lions to an undefeated record so far. The senior middle blocker totaled 43 kills, with a .326 hit percentage and 13 digs last week.

Georgia Byers, Sr., Deer Creek volleyball: The Antlers have won six of their last seven games, and Byers has been key. She had seven aces, 14 blocks, eight assists, 23 digs and 41 kills in that span to go along with a .407 hitting percentage.

Kate Holbrook, Sr., Moore cross country: She won the Class 6A-5A race at Carl Albert’s meet Friday, finishing the five-kilometer run in 20:27.58.

Olivia Palumbo, Sr., Washington softball: The Warriors have lost just one game to start the year and Palumbo has been a major player so far. The Iowa State commit has struck out 85 batters in 50 innings while posting a 0.65 ERA to go along with four home runs.

Rielyn Scheffe, Sr., Washington cross country: She won the Class 4A-A race at Carl Albert’s meet Friday. Scheffe completed the 2-mile run in 12:26.24.

Jordan Tash, Sr., Shawnee volleyball: Tash erupted for 15 kills, 15 digs, and five aces in a road win over Tulsa Memorial on Thursday.

Baylee Tapley, Sr., Choctaw cross country: She finished as the runner-up at Carl Albert’s meet in the Class 6A-5A division. Tapley finished the five-kilometer race in 20:31.88.

Kinley Taylor, So., Jones cross country: She placed fourth at Carl Albert’s meet in the Class 4A-A division. Taylor finished the two-mile race in 13:11.15.
