Sooners advance to 20th consecutive NCAA women's gymnastics championships
For the 20th consecutive time, OU women's gymnastics is in the NCAA Championships.
The Sooners posted a 198.400 on Saturday in the Ann Arbor (Michigan) Regional final to take their 14th consecutive regional and advance.
OU will be joined at the NCAAs by Alabama, who posted a 197.575 to advance as the second-place finisher.
The Sooners' 198.400 is their secondhighest team score in regionals. It was a jump from the 198.050 OU posted two days earlier in their regional opener.
OU got off to a hot start, with a 49.800 on the balance beam to tie a program record.
It was the third time this season the Sooners posted a 49.800 in the event.
Audrey Davis started OU out with a 9.95, followed by a 9.925 from Ava Siegfeldt, a 9.95 from Jordan Bowers and a 9.95 from Faith Torrez. Katherine LeVasseur tied her career with a 9.975 before Ragan Smith also narrowly missed perfection with another 9.975.
The Sooners moved to the floor, where they tied their best regional score with a 49.675, highlighted by a 9.95 from Smith and a 9.975 from Bowers in the anchor slot.
Hannah Scheible had the best vault score of the night, posting a 9.925.
Davis and Bowers finished the night on a strong note on the uneven bars, with Davis posting a 9.95 and Bowers a 9.925 to secure the win.
OU will be the top seed at the NCAA Championships in Fort Worth beginning April 18.
The Sooners and Crimson Tide advance to take on the two teams from the Gainesville (Florida) Regional in one of two semifinals.
The top two teams from that matchup will advance to the April 20 finals.
OSU moves closer to sweep of Houston
Oklahoma State pitcher Ivy Rosenberry threw a two-hit, complete-game shutout to lift the seventh-ranked Cowgirls to an 11-0 run-rule victory over Houston on Saturday at Cougar Stadium in Houston.
Five Cowgirls -- Micaela Wark, Lexi McDonald, Caroline Wang and Jilyen Poullard -- all homered. McDonald connected twice, including a gran slam in the fifth.
Rosenberry moved to 10-2 on the year with her five scoreless innings.
OSU (32-6, 11-3 Big 12) opened the three-game series with a 3-1 win Friday night.
OU's Moore declares for NBA Draft
OU junior forward Jalon Moore has declared for the 2024 NBA Draft, he announced via X on Saturday.
Moore averaged 11.2 points and 6.7 rebounds per game while starting 31 games for the Sooners this season. He also shot 51.7% from the field and was named a 2023-24 All-Big 12 Honorable Mention. Moore is the fifth Sooners player to depart, although he could return if his draft prospects are underwhelming, following their omission from the NCAA Tournament.
John Hugley IV, Javian McCollum, Otega Oweh and Milos Uzan have entered the transfer portal.
Moore, the Birmingham, Alabama, native transferred to OU from Georgia Tech last offseason. Seniors Le'Tre Darthard, Maks Klanjseck and Soares are all out of eligibility. Sam Godwin has an extra year of eligibility remaining due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but it's unclear whether or not he'll return to Norman.
The transfer window for undergraduates closes May 1, but graduate transfers are able to transfer after that date. OU finished its season 20-12 and was the final team left out of the tournament.
OSU lands offensive line recruit
Outdueling some prominent Southeastern Conference and Atlantic Coast Conference programs, Oklahoma State earned a commitment from Jaylan Beckley on Friday.
A three-star recruit who is 6-foot-3 and 290 pounds out of Trinity Christian Academy in Addison, Texas, Beckley had previously been committed to Clemson before reopening his recruitment March 1. c
He is a powerful interior offensive lineman who also had offers from OU, Florida State, Georgia, Missouri, Florida, Tennessee, Texas A&M and others.

MINOR LEAGUE BASEBALL: Four Oklahoma City Baseball Club pitchers combined to hold Albuquerque scoreless over the final eight innings in a 3-1 victory Friday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. The Isotopes jumped to a 1-0 lead in the first batters, but OKC later rallied behind Hunter Feduccia's RBI fielder's choice. He scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch in the seventh.
COLLEGE FOOTBALL: OU secured a commitment from 2025 safety Marcus Wimberly on Saturday. The three-star prospect from Bauxite, Arkansas, is rated by 247Sports as the No. 42 safety in the nation. He chose OU over Oregon, Arkansas and Utah. Wimberly also played wide receiver and running back during his junior season at Bauxite High. The 6-foot-1 standout ran the ball 74 times for 533 yards and 15 touchdowns, and he caught 28 passes for 302 yards and two touchdowns. On defense, he recorded 12 tackles and recovered one fumble in nine games. Wimberly is the 11th commit for OU in the 2025 recruiting class. The Sooners have landed three four-star prospects and seven eight three-star prospects.
COLLEGE TRACK & FIELD: OSU's Bailey Golden, a former Choctaw star, led the heptathlon through the first full day of the Jim Click Shootout in Arizona. She posted 3,524 points through four of the seven contested events, securing first in the high jump, shot put and third place in the 100 meter hurdles. Her hurdles time of 13.76 seconds ranks second in program history. Kessia Bemis also took gold in the Hep 200 meters in 24.02 seconds.
MEN'S COLLEGE TENNIS: OSU fell 6-1 to No. 5-ranked Texas on Friday at the Greenwood Tennis Center, dropping to 15-7 overall and 2-3 in conference play. OSu did get a doubles point against the Longhorns for the first time since 2019 with a win by the duo of Alex Garcia and Francisco Pini.
