USCellular’s Black History Month Art Contest winners

USCellular announced the winners of its fifth annual Black History Month Art Contest with Boys & Girls Clubs of Oklahoma County.
Boys & Girls Club members were encouraged to create original pieces of artwork representing influential Black STEM icons. Public voting for the finalists' art was online and the winning artists from each club were awarded gift cards
Top three art contest winners are:

Sarah El-Rhaul, 2nd place winner
Winston Cooper, 3rd place winner
UCO professor receives Outstanding Role Model Award
Cornel Pewewardy, associate professor of political science at the University of Central Oklahoma, was honored with the 2024 Outstanding Role Model Award at the Oklahoma Native American Students in Higher Education Conference in February.
Pewewardy's contributions include helping to write Senate Bill 429, which allows Native American students to wear their tribal regalia during commencement ceremonies.
Two Edmond schools win culinary honors
Teams from Edmond North High School and Edmond Santa Fe High School earned their spot among the next generation of restaurant innovators and culinarians when they captured the Ben E. Keith Oklahoma ProStart Student Invitational competition.
Both teams represent Oklahoma's best and brightest culinary and restaurant management students and were awarded scholarships from the Culinary Institute of America.
As state champions, they will compete at the 2024 National ProStart Invitational in Baltimore where they will face off against winning teams from nearly all 50 states.
