Crop comments: Olmsted Falls had its sixth straight Southweste­rn Conference championsh­ip on the line. In a showdown against North Ridgeville, which was the No. 2 team in the Crop, the Bulldogs won handily, 72-46. They also defeated Elyria, 61-29. Olmsted Falls has three games this week. One will be against Erie Cathedral Prep (Jan. 31), which is considered one of the best 5A teams in Pennsylvan­ia. … The Rangers bounced back

with a 52-38win against Avon. … Elyria Catholic clinched its third straight Great Lakes Conference championsh­ip following a 51-26victory over North Olmsted. The Panthers will take on four Division I teams before the Division II postseason. The first will be Medina on Jan. 31. … Avon Lake has won three straight SWC games since its loss to North Ridgeville. This week was against Berea-Midpark (44-32) and Midview (64-28). … Amherst also defeated the Titans (50-39) and Middies (62-46). … Rocky River will be the Shoregals’ next opponent on Jan. 31, as the Pirates posted wins

over Medina Buckeye (6126), Valley Forge (53-29) and Westlake (46-37) in a four-day stretch. … The undefeated Wildcats leaped over another SWC team. They defeated Elyria, 50-19, and Oberlin, 59-14. Keystone enters this week with a chance to win at least a share of the Lorain County League for the third straight season. The Wildcats face Clearview (Jan. 31) and Columbia (Feb. 2). … Columbia jumps past Midview. The Raiders trail the Wildcats in the LC8 standings, but defeated Wellington (53-24) and Brookside (59-16).
