- By Editorial staff

The Elyria Community Partnership is teaming up with Erie Island Coffee Co. to present Something Sweet from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., Feb. 15, at 148 Middle Ave. in Elyria, according to a news release.

Something Sweet is designed to showcase local talent and bring a broader audience with evening business hours at Erie Island Coffee Co., the release said.

While the full menu will be on display, 20% of all purchases made will go toward the Elyria Community Partnership to continue supporting events throughout the year, according to the release.

The menu will include soups, sandwiches, sweets and beverages.

Live music will be provided by an Elyria native and 1989 Elyria High School graduate Luther Trammell, who will showcase his vocal and musical talent, the release said.

Trammell has performed music since 1983, according to the release.

He entered the club and festival scene in 1995.

His accolades include first place in the 2015 Northeast Ohio Blues Society.

Trammell is excited to showcase his talents and states that he plays “music that will touch your soul and pop on the Bluetooth,” the release said.

He will hit the scene at 6:30 p.m. and there will be time for an open mike prior to his performance, according to the release.

If you or someone you know has a talent they would like to share, email hello@elyriatogether.org by Feb. 9.

The Elyria Community Partnership appreciates the generous support of Erie Island Coffee Co. staff and management to bring this opportunity to the community, the release said.

“I am looking forward to seeing this event expand the awareness and audience of Elyria’s staple downtown coffee shop,” said Heather Campbell, events and engagement coordinator for the Elyria Community Partnership in the release. “We have so much to be proud of in Elyria, and there is so much more on the horizon.”

This is an early way to celebrate the Elyria Community Partnership’s Third Thursday summer series, which will return in June, the release said.

Third Thursdays feature live music, food and community in downtown Ely Square.
