Series recap: The Jumbo Shrimp clawed back for a series split on the road against the Toledo Mud Hens, climbing back above .500 to 19-18 for the second half of the Triple-A season. They remain two games behind the IL East’s leaders, Lehigh Valley and Rochester, and 6 1/2 games back of overall leader Columbus. Highlight: While Toledo earned a pair of walk-off wins in the series, Jacksonville also had some highlights of note. On Sunday, Javier Sanoja’s two-run double keyed a three-run fourth that pushed the Jumbo Shrimp to a 7-6 victory. Crustacean sensation: Deyvison De Los

Santos is a contender for this category every week. The 21-year-old third baseman leads the minor leagues with 33 home runs and added long balls on both Saturday and Sunday. For the season, he holds a 1.001 OPS.

On deck: The Redbirds, Triple-A affiliates of the St. Louis Cardinals, have opened the season’s second half below .500 and have a lot of ground to make up in the International League West. Among those coming to Jacksonville for the series will be infielder Thomas Saggese, ranked by MLB.com as the Cardinals’ No. 4 prospect. This series includes a doubleheader Friday and an off day Saturday, in order to avoid a clash with the Jaguars’ home preseason NFL game on Saturday night against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Ballpark fun: With the season entering the proverbial dog days of August, the promotional schedule is still going strong. Offbeat events on the schedule include a celebration of women inventors on Wednesday and a 90’s Night doubleheader on Friday. Probable pitchers Tuesday: To be announced.
