BOCA RATON - Anthony “Tony” Bariso beloved husband, father, grandfathe­r, and brother passed away peacefully on the morning of January 14, 2024.

Anthony was born in Passaic, NJ on September 2, 1940 to Benjamin and Lucille (Laprai) Bariso.

Following graduation from high school in 1958, Tony enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. After three years of service, Tony met and soon married the love of his life Marietta Collura while at the same time embarking on a career as a union carpenter where he ultimately was elected as a union official. Tony was a proud member of the United Brotherhoo­d of Carpenters and Millwright­s Union where he held several executive positions over his 43-year career including Business Representa­tive with the Northern New Jersey State Council of Carpenters. Tony took great pride in working side by side with other union members to negotiate and ultimately enforce contracts which included affordable healthcare, job security, fair wages and an overall better workplace and working conditions for his people.

Tony alongside his wife raised their family in Butler, NJ where he was very involved in his children’s upbringing including coaching in local baseball and football leagues.

Following his retirement in 1995, Tony and his wife settled in Boca Raton, FL where he remained until his passing.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents Benjamin and Lucille Bariso. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Marietta (Collura), his children George Bariso (Lisa), Todd Bariso (Jennifer) and Jenice Sisco. Affectiona­tley known as Papa “T” he leaves behind six cherished grandchild­ren, John Bariso, Zachary Bariso, Jenelle Conforth, Amanda Bariso, Benjamin Bariso and Jared Sisco. he is also survived by his brother Angelo, sister Theresa Bariso ( Ed Nicholson) and Godchild David Cagna (Lisa).

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 19 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Boca Raton. Entombment will follow at the Boca Raton Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that expression­s of sympathy be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
