JENNIE DOMINGUEZ ZARAGOZA
August 24, 1931 – May 11, 2024
Jennie Zaragoza, loving and devoted mother, sister, mother-in-law, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother of Delano, California, passed away surrounded by family. She was born in 1931 in Chacon, New Mexico to Felix and Isabel Trujillo. At the age of 9, she and her parents and siblings moved from New Mexico to Delano, California.
She attended Ellington Elementary School and Delano High School. At the age of 19, she married Robert Dominguez and, together they raised 6 children. Jennie spent 47 wonderful years married to Robert until his death in 1997.
On December 8, 2007, she married her second husband, Vincent Zaragoza and was blessed with 7 years of marriage, until his death in 2014.
Jennie's passion was to garden and she nurtured anything that grew. Spending time with family was Jennie's most treasured pastime.
Jennie was preceded in death by her parents, 5 siblings, her first husband, Robert and second husband, Vincent.
Jennie is survived and deeply loved by her sons, Robert Dominguez and wife, Maria of Bakersfield, Arnie Dominguez and wife Bea, of Scottsdale, Arizona, daughters Eva Escobedo of Bakersfield, Esther Castillo of Bakersfield, Juanita Ayers and husband Ralph of Bakersfield, Rosie Torrez and husband Tony of Delano. Step-children include Vincent Zaragoza Jr., John Zaragoza and Mary Ann Garza and husband Louie of Bakersfield.
Jennie also leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, Eulalia Orozco from Los Angeles and Dorothy Urias from Delano.
On June 5, 2024, the viewing will be at Funeraria del Angel, 707 Browning Road, Delano, California from 3 - 6pm. The rosary will be recited at 4:00pm.
A Catholic funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 1015 Clinton Street in Delano on June 6, 2024 at 10:00am. Committal Services to follow at North Kern Cemetery District, 627 Austin Street in Delano.
