DAVID CHURCHILL

David Harold Churchill passed away Thursday,

July 25, 2024 at his home in

Dekalb, Texas.

He was 88.

Harold was born August 19,

1935 in Dekalb,

Texas to Nathan and Eula Mae

Churchill. He was a retired Minister of the Baptist faith. He pastored several churches in the Bowie Baptist Associatio­n. He was the director of Big A Ministry at Avery First Baptist Church and basketball coach.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, David Ira Churchill; one brother, W.C. “Dub” Churchill.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years Joyce Spinks Churchill, one daughter, Tracie Burkhalter and spouse Paul of Avery, Texas and one son Michael Churchill and Missy of Hooks, Texas; one brother, Leroy Churchill and spouse “Totsie” of Tyler, Texas two sisters, Mary Sue Alexander of Rutledge, Georgia and Nelda Adams and spouse Odell of Wake Village, Texas; seven grandchild­ren, Caleb Burkhalter, Joel Burkhalter, Ariah Burkhalter, Tabitha Churchill, Christophe­r Churchill and spouse Darcey, Logan Churchill and spouse Charla, Krista Churchill; seven great grandchild­ren Stetson May, Kinzlee, Kamri and Spencer Churchill, Titus, Isaiah and Galadriel Burkhalter.

Memorial Service will be Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Avery First Baptist Church, Avery, Texas.

Public visitation will be Monday, July 29, 2024 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Bates Family Funeral Home Chapel, Dekalb, Texas.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Avery First Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 56, Avery, TX, 75554 and Alzheimer’s Alliance of Texarkana TX.

NAN MOSELY

Nan Woodward Mosely, age 80 of New Boston,

Texas, passed away Wednesday, July 24,

2024 at Christus

St. Michael Hospital.

Mrs. Mosely was born in Ft.

Worth, Texas, on December 8,

1943. Mrs. Mosely was preceded in death by an infant son and her parents, Jack and Ann Woodward.

Mrs. Mosely was a retired elementary school teacher for the New Boston ISD. She was a member/officer of the Western Bowie County Retired Teachers Associatio­n, New Boston Education Foundation, New Boston Friends of the Library, an Associate Member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, and was a member of the First Baptist Church in New Boston. She received her BBA degree from North Texas State University and M.ED. degree from East Texas State University.

Mrs. Mosely is survived by her husband of 58 years, Howard, a son, Mark, a sister, Jan, and other relatives, and her beloved dogs, L.D. (Lucky Dog) and Babe.

Services will be held at Batesrolf Funeral Home in New Boston on Sunday, July 28, 2024 at 3:00 P.M. with David Daniel officiatin­g. Visitation will be 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. before the services. Burial will be in Sand Hill Cemetery, Simms, Texas under the direction of Bates Rolf Funeral Home.
