Fazio is delivering for Dist. 36
Nick Simmons — of the Simmons political family — is apparently running for state Senate Dist. 36 for Greenwich, Stamford, and New Canaan.
Simmons states he is running because “having been in Hartford for the last three years, Greenwich is often disregarded,” and that incumbent Sen. Ryan Fazio “doesn’t understand how to get things done or he just simply doesn’t care.”
Simmons must have amnesia.

Perhaps he could have called the governor’s deputy chief of staff to advocate for Greenwich and Stamford. That person’s name is Nick Simmons.
“I’ll do in the state Senate what I couldn’t while working for the governor — deliver for Greenwich and Stamford,” is apparently Simmons’ message. His pitch needs works. Simmons is a young man who has never worked in the private sector. So, amateur mistakes like this are to be expected.
But the 36th District doesn’t need an amateur. Sen. Fazio is already there, delivering for us. In just a few short years, Ryan has been a main co-sponsor on laws that:
1) Provided a historic expansion for birth control access;
2) Provided a historic utilities oversight and energy reform to protect consumers and reduce long-term costs;
3) Made it easier for charities to raise money;
4) Roll back unnecessary college degree requirements for state jobs; and
5) Pilot interventions on smart phones and mental health in schools — including for Stamford Public Schools.
Sen. Fazio also obtained $2 million of bonding funds for New Canaan infrastructure spending this December. His accomplishments in the state Senate are prolific.
Voters should reject Simmons and his affable, but twoissue competitor, Trevor Crowe (who says a lot about guns and abortion, and not much about anything else).
Support Sen.Ryan Fazio for reelection this November!
