PREP FOOTBALL GAMES OF THE WEEK

Lincoln (1-1) at Vallejo (1-1) — Both teams are coming off stirring one-point wins, including Lincoln’s 15-14 decision over San Rafael when Michael Washington rushed 25 times for 174 yards and a touchdown. He also had two sacks in the second half when the Mustangs fought back from a 14-0 deficit. Vallejo beat Lincoln last season 25-13. #2 Pittsburg (3-0) at St. John Bosco-Bellflower
(4-0) — Bosco, coming off a 56-16 throttling of host Serra on Saturday, is the nation’s No. 2 team, according to SBLive Sports. Even one of Pittsburg’s most talented teams, with upward of eight Division I college players, will need to play flawlessly to contend with the Braves, who boast 23 players with D-I offers.
#10 San Marin-Novato (3-0) at Casa Grande-Petaluma (2-1) — The visiting Mustangs own a 3-1 series lead, including 17-14 in their last meeting in 2019. Casa Grande senior QB Danny Mercado has thrown for 457 yards, rushed for 250 and accounted for 11 touchdowns.
#4 San Ramon Valley-Danville (3-0) at #12 McClymonds-Oakland (1-2) — All anyone can wish for is a repeat of the competitiveness from the 2022 game in Oakland, a 45-42 McClymonds win. With a deep roster of 81 players, San Ramon Valley should wear down the Warriors’ roster of 19.
#1 De La Salle-Concord (3-0) at St. Mary’s-Stockton (2-1), 7:15 p.m. — The Spartans have looked a lot like one of their best teams this century, having outscored three quality opponents 123-29. St. Mary’s, which beat DLS the last time it played in Stockton 43-35, features one of the most dynamic WR tandems in Northern California, junior Kenneth Moore III and sophomore Osani Gayles.
