Patrons of the San Francisco Symphony can now purchase single tickets for Music Director Esa-Pekka Salonen’s final season.

Tickets went on sale Saturday, July 20, at the Davies Symphony Hall box office at 201 Van Ness Ave. Tickets can also be purchased online or by phone at 415864-6000.

The 2024-25 season includes an opening gala with pianist Lang Lang, an evening with “Wicked” actress Cynthia Erivo and a special holiday performance with Boyz II Men.

The complete season calendar can be found at sfsymphony.org.

The Symphony has also released the details for its annual All San Francisco concert, scheduled for Sept. 12. The program, produced in partnership with the San Francisco Arts Commission, features Jean Sibelius’ “Karelia” Suite, Edvard Grieg’s “Peer Gynt” Suite No. 1 and a closing performance of Maurice Ravel’s “Daphnis et Chloé,” Suite No. 2.

The upcoming season, which begins Sept. 25, marks the Symphony’s last with conductor Salonen, who announced his departure earlier this year. The decision to not renew his five-year contract with the orchestra has been followed by protests against Symphony leadership by both musicians and patrons, who want the innovative Finnish conductor to stay.

The Symphony has not yet announced Salonen’s successor.

Meanwhile, the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra starts its first season with Radu Paponiu, its newly hired music director.

The orchestra is scheduled to play four concerts this season, beginning Nov. 24, with a program of Leonard Bernstein, Takashi Yoshimatsu and Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. On Dec. 15, Paponiu is to lead the group through its annual performance of “Peter and the Wolf.”
