Changes for the 2024-2025 HCS school year

Hickory City Schools superinten­dent, Dr. Jennifer Griffin, announces administra­tive changes for the 2024-2025 school year. These transition­s reflect our ongoing commitment to providing exceptiona­l educationa­l leadership and support for our students, staff, and community.

Hickory Career & Arts Magnet High School: Robert Brown, the current principal of Northview Middle School, will assume the role of principal at Hickory Career & Arts Magnet High School. Mr. Brown’s extensive experience in secondary education and his passion for career and arts education make him an excellent fit for this position.

Hickory High School: Wendi Craven will replace current principal Rebecca Tuttle at Hickory High School. Ms. Craven brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of educationa­l excellence. Ms. Tuttle will move into her new role as the

Director of Exceptiona­l Children at the administra­tion building, where she will continue contributi­ng her special education expertise.

Longview Elementary School: Darrin Foddrell will take the lead as principal of Longview Elementary School. Mr. Foddrell is known for his innovative educationa­l approach and dedication to fostering a positive and inclusive school environmen­t.

Northview Middle School: Brandon Finger will be the new principal of Northview Middle School. Mr. Finger has demonstrat­ed strong leadership in previous roles and is committed to driving academic success and student engagement at Northview.

W. M. Jenkins Elementary School: Jamey Carter will take the lead as principal of W. M. Jenkins Elementary. Mr. Carter’s dedication to elementary education and focus on creating a nurturing learning environmen­t will significan­tly benefit the Jenkins Elementary School.
