Heat brings back former guard for Gators

- From Miami Herald Staff and Wire Reports

Even after being waived by the Heat less than two weeks ago, it appears that guard Zyon Pullin will be on the training camp roster.

That’s because the Heat on Monday signed Pullin to an Exhibit 10 contract, which is essentially an invitation to training camp and keeps him from being signed by another team.

Miami signed Pullin, 23, to a two-way deal July 1 shortly after he went undrafted out of Florida. But after a quiet summer league, the Heat waived him July 25 in order to have room to sign summer league standout Josh Christopher to a twoway contract.

But the Heat remains intrigued by Pullin’s skill set as a 6-foot-4 point guard. Even if he doesn’t land a two-way deal from the Heat before the start of the season, the Exhibit 10 contract could keep him within the organization’s developmental umbrella by facilitating a move to the Heat’s G League affiliate — the Sioux Falls Skyforce.

The Heat’s preseason roster currently has 19 players. NBA teams can carry up to 21 players under contract in the offseason and preseason. Rosters must be cut to a maximum of 18 players (15 on standard contracts and three on two-way contracts) by the start of the regular season.

A maintenance worker salvaged the locker during the Staples Center's 2018 renovations, ESPN said, and sold it to a private collector.

NBA: Center Bruno Fernando signed with Toronto. Financial terms were not disclosed. He averaged 6.3 points and 4.3 rebounds in 45 games for Atlanta last season.
