Cool off this summer with ‘Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire’

-

The second entry in a ghostly franchise reboot tops the DVD releases for the week of June 25.

“Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire”: The sequel to the lega-sequel to the 1980s action comedy finds the new and old generation of Ghostbusters back in the Big Apple battling the evil Elsa of ghosts.

“Picking up where ‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife’ left off three years ago, ‘Frozen Empire’ is also like ‘Afterlife’ in that it has way too much going on as it attempts to juggle two movies’ worth of actors,” writes Star Tribune critic Chris Hewitt in his review. “There’s the return of [most of] the original Ghostbusters, in the game form of Dan

Aykroyd, Bill Murray and Ernie Hudson — and, surprisingly, Murray makes the least impact of the trio, with Aykroyd and Hudson generating tender feelings in a scene that has nothing to do with ghosts.”
