The Hon. H. DON CHRISTIAN, 82, of Van Nuys (California), former Court Commission­er for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California, passed away on Sunday June 23, in Whittier (California).

Commission­er Christian was appointed to the bench in 2003 and proudly served the Los Angeles County Superior Court until last September 2023. Prior to his appointmen­t, Judge Christian worked as an attorney in private practice for more than 32 years and was a member to the State Bar of California since 1971.

He earned his Juris Doctorate at Loyola Law School class of 1970 whilst teaching at Belmont High School and became a faculty member at the American College of Law and the California State University system.

Don was preceded in death by his parents Homer and Lillian Christian, and his son Chance.

Beloved husband of wife, Francine; father of Kimberly, Chance (deceased), Federico, Gonzalo, Charly and Jimmy and grandfathe­r of 10 grandchild­ren, 2 greatgrand­children, and loved by three generation­s of nieces and nephews.

His passion for law, public service, and respect from peers and the legal community was only exceeded by the love to his family and true dedication to lifelong friendship­s.

In addition to a very busy and successful life in law and family, Don found time to enjoy golf with his buddies, skiing with his family and racing his treasured Shelby Mustang at Willow Springs.

Funeral arrangemen­ts will be carried out by Guerra Gutierrez in Whittier and burial ceremony to follow at Resurrecti­on Cemetery for his immediate family.

A memorial and life celebratio­n service will be informed by the family.
