She graduated from Georgetown University School of Nursing, where she met her love, Daniel Arthur Mickey, while he was a student at the US Naval Academy. They decided to raise their family in East Windsor, CT, where she lived for 60 years before recent relocations to the Manchester and South Windsor areas.

Cecy was a born caretaker, and her love for people led to a successful nursing career that began at Hartford Hospital, and continued as the Head Nurse for the East Windsor school system and the Nurse at East Windsor High School, as a nurse with the Visiting Nurse & Health Services of Connecticut, and volunteering in Hospice Care. She carried that nurturing quality forward, creating a bereavement support group for widows and widowers at St Patrick - St Anthony.

Cecy had a deep love of music, having performed with the St Catherine's Players at the Broad Brook Opera House as a young woman, St Catherine's folk group, and sang with the choir of her church at St Patrick - St Anthony in Hartford. She loved to travel, from Ireland to Italy to Nepal, and loved to read. But above all she adored her family.

Cecy is survived by her five children Rev. Dr. Bhiksuni Lozang Trinlae of White Mountains, NH, Christopher Mickey and his wife Laurie of Broad Brook, CT, Edith Mickey-Silveria and her husband Michael of Long Beach, CA, Danielle Mickey Kellogg and her husband Timothy of Lusby, MD, and Angela Mickey and her husband Todd Horan of New York City; her grandsons Dallas Mickey and his wife Felicia of Glastonbury, CT, Lawrence Pagano IV of Broad Brook, CT, Allston Mickey of Portola Valley, CA, Miles Silveria of Long Beach, CA, and Jordan Kellogg of Maryland; her granddaughter Kaily KelloggGarrison and her husband Marlow of Grand Rapids, MI; her sister Edith Ferrante Beasley and her husband John of Virginia, and many nieces and nephews.

She often spoke with joy about reuniting with her husband Daniel Arthur Mickey, her parents August and Edith Nogara, brother Joseph Powers, her sister Judith Goldhammer, and many of her other friends and family. A Celebration of Life will be held January 3rd, 2024 at the Unitarian Universalist Society, East, 153 West Vernon Street, Manchester, CT 06040.
