REMINDER OF SERVICES WILLIAM SCONES, JR.

William Jasper “Bill” Sones, Jr., 96, of El Dorado, passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2024.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm today at East Main Baptist Church with Rev. Benjy McCann officiatin­g. Masonic funeral rites will be held in the sanctuary before the interment. Interment will follow at Old Parkers Chapel Cemetery with Military honors performed by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

A special thanks to Dee Tatia and Amazing Grace Homecare for all the loving care given to Bill the Last several years.

Memorials may be made to Masonic Lodge #13, 106 N. Washington Ave. and East Main Baptist Church, 1903 East Main St., El Dorado, AR 71730.

CAROLYN HAY

Carolyn Ann Fuller Hay, beloved wife, mother, “Grammy” and faithful servant of the Lord, went to be with her Savior on August 19, 2024 at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas at the age of 79.

She was born on February 25,

1945 in Waldo AR to Floyd David and Dora Mae Adams Fuller. She was married to Johnnie Ray Hay, the love of her life for 60 wonderful years. Together they built a family filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories, especially at Christmas time around the tall Christmas tree in their home.

Carolyn had a deep and abiding love for her family, and she especially adored her grandchild­ren, who brought her immense joy. Her home was always filled with warmth, kindness, peace, and love. Her passion for ancestry connected her to the past, allowing her to keep the stories of her family alive for future generation­s. As those who were close to her knew she loved her stories!

A long-time member of West Side Baptist Church, Carolyn found great comfort and fulfillmen­t in her faith. She loved worshippin­g her Lord and Savior, and her days were often filled with uplifting sounds of gospel music, which brought her closer to the heart of God.

Carolyn leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and devotion. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though she has left this earthly home, her spirit and love will continue to guide and inspire those who were blessed to be part of her life.

Preceding her in death are her parents; brothers, Tommy Rookard Sr, Johnny Fuller, Bennie Fuller; sister, Betty Haller; and grandson, Christophe­r Hay.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 60 years, Johnnie Ray Hay, Sr. of El Dorado; son,

John Ray Hay, Jr. (Marlene) of Fulshear, TX, daughter, Angela Christine Simmons (Alan) of El Dorado; grandchild­ren, Alexis Ann Hallman (Andrew) of Conway, AR, Adam Price Simmons (Hannah Wilson) of El Dorado, John Collin Hay of Fayettevil­le, AR, Anna Claire Hay of Fayettevil­le, AR; a host of nieces and nephews; and many special lady friends from West Side Baptist Church.

A special Thanks to her caregivers, Lisa Ann Mayer, and Danyell Brooks.

A Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 22, 2024, at West Side Baptist Church.

A service celebratin­g her life and faith will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 23, 2024, at West Side Baptist Church with Bro. Cody Lain and Bro. David Voss officiatin­g. Burial will follow at Burns Ebenezer Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
