LISA TEMPLE

Lisa Marie Reddin Temple, age 37, of El Dorado, AR passed from this life Thursday, February 22, 2024.

Lisa was born December 03, 1986 in Columbia, MO to parents Allen and Janie Reddin.

She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth “K. C.” Temple.

Those left to cherish her memory include: her parents Allen and Janie Reddin of El Dorado, AR; three children Alexis Nicole Digby, Catherine Danielle Digby, and Caleb Nathaniel Digby; two brothers Gary Reddin and his wife Alisa of Norfolk, VA, Dewayne Reddin of El Dorado, AR; two sisters Lisa Lynn Brown of Houston, TX, and Christina Morgan and her husband Leon of Smackover, AR; aunt Susie Pruitt and her husband David of El Dorado, AR; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services in her honor will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, February, 26, 2024 at the Pentecosta­ls of El Dorado (2400 James Blvd El Dorado, AR 71730), Pastor James Fout officiatin­g, internment following at Craig Cemetery in El Dorado, AR. A time of visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until time of service at the church. GLENDON WAYNE BASSETT

Glendon Wayne Bassett, 85, of Hot Springs, Arkansas passed away February 15, 2024. He was born August 16, 1938, in Greenwood, AR, to Chester and Ruth Bassett.

Glendon was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Mary Bassett; parents.

Survivors include daughter Terri Crain of Hot Springs; son, Tracy Bassett of Montgomery, AL. grandchild­ren, Austin (Megan) Crain of Little Rock, AR., Amy (Kirk) Gober of Bentonvill­e, AR., Colton (Chloe) Bassett, Sydney (Dalton) Dicks, Ruston Bassett of Montgomery, AL.; great grandchild­ren, Easton Crain of Little Rock, Lincoln and Chanley Gober of Bentonvill­e, AR.

A celebratio­n of Glendon’s life will be Tuesday 10:00 a.m. February 20, at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home 155 Section Line Rd. Hot Springs, AR. with Rev. Don Phillips officiatin­g from Calvary Baptist of East Camden, AR. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m.

Pallbearer­s include Austin Crain, Colton Bassett, Ruston Bassett, Kirk Gober, Dalton Dicks, Brett Hendricks, Jeffery Hendricks.

DANNY F. STAPLES

Danny F. Staples, 75, of Calion, AR passed away Saturday, February 17, 2024 at his home.

Danny was born February 27, 1948 in El Dorado, AR to the union of James B. Staples and Mary Jeanette Tucker Staples.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Nancy Hurst Staples and his grandson, Saxon Ross.

Danny was a member of First Baptist Church Calion, former employee of Rock Island Railroad, a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge, member Boones Mound Hunting Club, and a veteran of the U. S. Army.

Survivors include three daughters, Melissa Pratt and Ralph Stewart, Jackie Staples, Dana Kendrick and husband Chuck, bonus son, Chris Hurst and wife Jina, bonus daughter, Terri Evans and husband Bud, three brothers, James B. Staples and wife Mary, Virgil Staples, John Shatford and wife Margaret, one sister, Beverly Hollingswo­rth and husband Stan, three grandchild­ren, Mac Wallace, Taylor Garnier, Charli Kendrick, two great grandchild­ren, Daisy Hand, Athena Wallace, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 22, 2024 at First Baptist Church of Calion.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 22, 2024 at First Baptist Church of Calion with Rev. Mark Staples and Rev. Kenny Blackwell officiatin­g. Interment will be in Champagnol­le Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado, AR.

Pallbearer­s will be Jimmy Hudson, David Sutherland, Steve Staples, Ralph Stewart, Chuck Kendrick, and Neil Hudson.

SIS. GLADYS BRICE FORD

Sis. Gladys Brice Ford was born in Summerfiel­d, LA on December 30, 1936 to James Lee and Lucille Brice.

Sis. Ford united in marriage to the late Bro. Willie Ford on December 29th, 1956. To this union were born seven children.

Sis. Ford proceeded in death by her parents James Lee and Lucille Brice; {three sisters} Bessie Lee Malone, Lucy Mae Blackmon and Nelle Sue Moore; {three bothers} Curtis Lee Brice, Rev. Leon Brice, Roy James Brice; {two daughters} Linda Gail Ford and Evelyn Ann Bowens; {one son} Rev. Tony Ray Ford; and (three grandchild­ren} Cedric Swift, Stephanie Freeman, and Jacquelyn Berry {James Davis}.

Sis. Ford leaves to cherish her memories: {two sons} Willie Ford Jr. and Jimmy {Tracie} Ford Sr., {two daughters} Virginia Ray Ford and Audrey Denise Berry; {Sister-in-law} Elizabeth Shelton Brice, and {Aunt} Ada Mae Davis; 10 grandchild­ren and 19 great-grandchild­ren and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

CAROLYN JUNE MOORE McCURRY

Carolyn June Moore McCurry, 90, of El Dorado, passed away Monday, February 19, 2024. She died peacefully at her home surrounded by family.

She was born June 19, 1933, in Columbia County to Thomas Henry Moore and Nannie Mae Terrell Moore. She graduated from El Dorado High School in 1950 at age 16, having skipped grades 2 and 8. She entered Warner Brown Hospital School of Nursing in June of 1950, which was affiliated with St. Mary’s Hospital in Saint Louis, Missouri. This fulfilled her childhood dream of becoming a nurse. Most of her 48-year nursing career was spent in the surgical department, ICU/CCU, and nursing administra­tion. She had the privilege of assisting in the organizati­on of and directing the first ICU/ CCU in South Arkansas. During this time, she also taught a coronary care course twice yearly to nurses from other South Arkansas hospitals. She served as interim administra­tor of Warner Brown Hospital for 6 months prior to the merger of WBH with Union Medical Center in December of 1987. She served on the boards of the YWCA and the United Way of Union County. Carolyn was a member of Second Baptist Church (Cross Life) where she served on many committees including the designing and selection of the stained-glass windows. However, her greatest satisfacti­on came from teaching second and third grade children’s Sunday school, beginning in 1959 and continuing until December of 2023. It was always a joy for her to teach and be loved by second and third generation­s of one family.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ben, of 58 years, and her son in law, Dr. Scott Hardin. Survivors include one daughter, Kay Hardin of El Dorado; and she was Missy to grandson, Matthew Benjamin Moore (Bethany) of El Dorado, and granddaugh­ter Emily Anne McClenahan (Scott) of Malvern; great-grandchild­ren Hunter Alan Cheatham and Micah Andrew Moore.

Pallbearer­s include Hunter Cheatham, Bob Cook, Bo Rumph, Ron McDaniel, Randy Swilley, and Mike Graves.

Funeral services will be under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at Young’s Chapel, Friday, February 23th, 2024, at 10 am with funeral service following at 11 am. Services will conclude with a private family burial at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

CURTIS WAYNE “PETE” NEELY

Curtis Wayne “Pete” Neely, completed his earthly journey of 88 ½ years and went to his Heavenly home on February 20, 2024. He was born on July 19, 1935 to Lola Gertrude Fowler Neely and James Floyd Neely in El Dorado, Arkansas.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Cynthia Ann Neely; his sister, Ruth Neely Hollis; his wife, Floy Neely; his step-son, David Neely; and his step-granddaugh­ter, Brandi Neely.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Ricky (Marilyn) Neely, Ronny (Sheri) Neely; daughter, Susan (Eddie) Jackson; son, Randy (Cindy) Neely; daughter-inlaw, Elizabeth Neely; brother, Dick Neely; 10 grandchild­ren; 18 great grandchild­ren; two great, great grandchild­ren; and Penny, his loving puppy dog and companion.

“Pop” as he was affectiona­tely called enjoyed life in many ways. He loved sports. He played basketball and coached his boys little league teams. He also loved hunting and fishing in God’s great outdoors.

Pop loved his family and his friends and was known by many needing a good welder. He worked for his good friend, Charles Pyle at Specialty Machine & Tool for many, many years.

He was of the Baptist faith and his service will be at Crossroads Baptist Church on Friday, February 23, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. with visitation to follow. A private burial will be at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the Smackover High School Class of 1979 Memorial Fund, Smackover Frist Baptist Church Joy Sunday School Class, or to the donor’s choice.

LENORA “LA” ANDERSON

LeNora “LA” Anderson, was born on January 27, 1965, to Beatrice Johnson and Tom Anderson in El Dorado, AR.

She was employed at ConAgra and as a housekeepe­r at Country Inn & Suite. LeNora departed this world on February 16, 2024, at her home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Beatrice Johnson and Tom Anderson; four brothers, Charles Anderson, Bobby Ford, and Rickey Anderson and James Jacob; one sister, Patricia Shaw; three nephews, Donald Anderson, Anthony Jacob, and Ray Anderson Jr., one niece Elizabeth Jackson, and one grandson Octavius Critton Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Shemeka Anderson of El Dorado, AR; two grandchild­ren, Azariahn Wade and LaCorey Wade of El Dorado, AR; four great-grandchild­ren, Yasmin Miller, Ma’jor, Ma’Ryah, Ma’Tayvian, Ma’kenna Wade, two brothers, John (Bertha) Easter of El Dorado, AR, and Roy (Shirley) Anderson of Little Rock, AR. Two sisters, Barbara Jackson of Milwaukee and Victoria Clark of El Dorado, AR. A host of nieces, nephews, friends, and a special friend, Gerald Ford.

RODNEY “DAIN” DOSTER

Rodney “Dain” Doster age 54 of El Dorado, AR passed away Sunday, February 18, 2024 in El Dorado. Dain was born on September 8, 1969 in El Dorado to Edwina Lee Doster and the late Jimmy Hartsell Doster. Dain was a 1988 graduate of El Dorado High School and later attended electrical school, obtaining his journeyman electricia­n’s license and was currently employed by H & F Electric Co of Magnolia. Dain was a Christian, he loved the Lord and was of the Church of Christ faith. He was a loving son and friend to many, whom will be sorely missed by all. Dain was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy H. Doster and by his grandparen­ts, Edwin and Josephine Lee and Waymon and Clovis Doster.

Survivors include; his mother, Edwina Lee Doster of El Dorado; his aunt, Ann Greer of Parkers Chapel, along with several special cousins and a host of friends.

Public viewing will be held from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Bailey Funeral Home.

MILDRED MARIE NORFUL MURRAY

Mildred Marie Norful Murray was born on July 30, 1939, in Mt. Holly, Arkansas, to Douglas Norful, Sr., and Rowena Thompson Norful. On Sunday, February 11, 2024, the Lord called our beloved sister home.

On August 28, 1963, Mildred united in holy matrimony to Abel L. Williams. She later married Otis Murray on October 20, 2001.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Dorothy Jean Norful and Clara B. Johnson; brothers, Charlie Norful and Douglas Norful, Jr.; husband, Otis Murray; and son, James Otis Murray.

She leaves to cherish her memories her daughters: Barbara Williams, Daisy Murray Thomas, Patsy Beasley, Maxcine Murray Neal, Ednarene Murray-Rodgers (Larry) and Linda Murray-Fantroy; sons, Moses Murray (Betty) and Milton Murray; and brothers, John H. Norful (Brenda) and Jacques Sturgis (Wanda). Sixteen Grandchild­ren, fifth teen Great Grandchild­ren, Great-Great Grandchild: Serenity Armstead. Special Niece: Rashonda Osberry and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

George W. Boone, 93, of El Dorado, AR formerly of Warren, AR passed away Thursday, February 22, 2024 at his home.

George was born November 21, 1930 in Monticello, AR to Basil Lee Boone and Ruby Lee Boone.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Marlene Boone, daughter, Peggy Hedden, great granddaugh­ter, Chelsea Dodson, brother, Dudley Boone, and two sisters, Eleanor Rose Miller, Frankie Brookings.

George attended Immanuel Baptist Church and was former employee of Kroger’s. He was an avid deer hunter.

Survivors include his wife, Vada Purvis Boone, two sons, Dr. Terry Boone and wife Donna, Rickie Boone and wife Betty, two step-daughters, Gina Bird and husband Michael, Jana Eaton, one step-son, Billy Purvis and wife Angelia, fourteen grandchild­ren, twenty two great grandchild­ren, two great great grandchild­ren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at Bailey Funeral Home.
