NORTH ANDOVER - Audrey Arlene Askew, age 93, passed peacefully on April 23, 2024, in Haverhill, Massachusetts.

Audrey’s strong and enduring spirit will be most dearly missed by three daughters and their families: Carol Braunschweig and Bill Heller, Laurie and Marc Corbacho, and Ann and Chris Mosby; five grandchildren, Elise (Zak) Kaufman, Alexander ( Tani) Corbacho, Carly Corbacho, Sarah (Andrew) Graf and Joseph (Bree) Mosby; four beautiful great-grandchildren; four beloved nieces and nephews and their families; and her her faithful and kind caregivers at Ashland Farms.

Audrey was born on September 2, 1930, to the late George and Frances (née Wells) Askew, in White Plains, New York. The family eventually moved to Briarcliff Manor where she graduated from Briarcliff High School in 1947. Ready to spread her wings, she enrolled in Keuka College to study nursing, graduating in the class of 1951.

Audrey married and raised her family in Rochester, New York. She valued her friendships and was an active member of First Presbyterian and St. Paul’s Episcopal churches in Rochester. Audrey led a spiritual life, enjoying adventure and learning. She was known for her ability to whip up a gourmet dinner on a moment’s notice, her appreciation for music, and her lifelong devotion to prayer. An avid reader and seeker, Audrey found her biggest joys from her unwavering faith and following the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Throughout her career, Audrey enjoyed various positions as a registered nurse. She was especially fond of her most recent professional role in pediatric nutrition at the University of Rochester Strong Memorial Hospital. In 1986, Audrey retired and pursued a new adventure in Charlottesville, Virginia. There she volunteered and found peace in the Blue Ridge mountains. Eventually her desire to be closer to family led her to Cincinnati, back to Rochester, and finally to North Andover, Massachusetts.

Audrey was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Caryl and Vivian; brother, George; and her former husband, Philip Braunschweig, father of her three daughters and whom she held in her heart throughout her life.

A memorial service will be held at Free Christian Church; 31 Elm Street, Andover, Massachusetts, on May 4th at 11:00 AM. Prayers and kindness are most welcome. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the American Red Cross or High Pointe Hospice House via Tufts Care at Home. https://www.tuftsmedicine.org/giving/give-care-home
