AC duo wins Bi-County

The Adams Central tandem of Madison Gerber and Addison Gilbert were crowned champions at the Bi-County Cross Country Meet at Norwell on Tuesday evening.

Runners made their way around the course at Norwell, with the finish line being situated on one of the football practice fields. A few meters away from the finish was a designated area where the runners would complete the leg they just ran and bring in their partners.

Gerber and Gilbert posted a time of 39:12.6, giving them a 41.3-second margin of victory.

Running on their home course, Norwell tandems occupied places two, three and four at the conclusion of the race. Second place went to Ashley Tucker and Ashley Waldman. They were followed by Mia Kurtz and Mya Oatess.

Fourth place went to the team of Reagan Wilson and Brooklyn Meyer.

Cora Kunkel and Kierstynn Reid finished fifth for Bluffton.

The Bellmont team of Sydney Angel and Abigail Rudy finished in sixth place. The pair of Braves accumulate­d a time of 42:12.5.

South Adams athletes Addy Watson and Ava Kinsey were 25.8 seconds behind Angel and Rudy, putting them in seventh place.

Eighth place was taken by Addison Meyer and Macy Oatess of Norwell. Southern Wells runners Marianne Pease and Sarah McFarren took home ninth place.

Jets Madison Hamilton and Haley Jaregui timed 43:48.9, allowing them to finish in 10th.

Bellmont had the top Adams County result for the boys.

Hayden Whittenbar­ger and Hudson Krull finished the event in third place. Their time of 32:55.8 put them six seconds ahead of South Adams in the pursuit of third place.

The Starfire team featured Wyatt Mann and Dakota Sprunger.

The top team for the Adams Central boys- Trevor and Tyler Schwartz- crossed the finish line at 33:35.3.

Harry Gunsett and Maddux Miller of Bellmont finished the race 35.3 seconds after the aforementi­oned Adams Central duo, giving them sixth place.

Ethan Crockett and Reid Gerber followed Gunsett and Miller to the finish in seventh.

The Bluffton team of Jackson Rockwell and Aidan Graves placed eighth. Kelton Barr and Jarin Frauhiger of Southern Wells took ninth.

Starfires Carson Laux and Deacon Bierbaum were 10th with a time of 35:03.9.

The Norwell girls and Bluffton boys were the overall team champions on Tuesday.
