MARGARET YOUNG

-

It is with a saddened heart we announce the passing of Margaret “Peggy” Young, a loving Mother, Wife, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. Peggy passed away peacefully at her home, in Belmont, surrounded by her loving family. Peggy was born in 1931 in Boston, MA. Peggy’s upbringing was a staple to her life – Raised in Medford, MA - the daughter of Police Chief William McLaughlin, and Mary (O’Donnell) McLaughlin-This brought great honor and esteem to Peggy which followed her throughout her lifetime.

Peggy attended Mount St. Joseph’s school for girls in Medford, MA with her darling sister Rosemary, graduating in 1949.

No stranger to class, Peggy enriched herself in all of life’s pleasures-traveling, dancing, dining and most importantly spending time with her family. Peggy had four children with her late husband, Donald Young, raising them together on Lake Winnisquam. These were the fondest of memories. Weekend excursions to the camp full of boat rides on the party barge, diving for bottle caps, and snowmobiling through the White Mountains.

In her later years, Peggy enjoyed sitting by the lake with her beloved sister Rosemary under the giant weeping willow – enjoying the chatter of her family, splashes of her grandchildren, counting of heads, red wine and Benny’s famous spaghetti. Evening rides in the model-T were a ritual, with her grandchildren in the backseat and her Red Hat atop her head. Cook-outs and family gatherings were important to Peggy, always the host- enriching us all with her dearest of memories and stories of her past.

Peggy is survived and will be dearly missed by her beloved children – Daughters: Donna Koval of Belmont, NH, Karol Bureau and her husband Paul of North Woodstock, NH, Rosemary Young of Laconia, NH and her son William Young and his wife Shiela of Loudon, NH.
