St. John Paul II rides Curley’s 33 points to runaway win

Matt Curley dropped 33 points, while Brandon Gomes put up 13 points and Daniel Cordeiro scored 11 points as St. John Paul II routed Rising Tide 72-43 in Cape and Islands League boys basketball action.

In a Middlesex League contest, Lincoln Fudge finished with 28 points while James Dingman added 19 to lift Arlington (11-2) to a 67-51 victory over Winchester.

Davis Darnell scored 22 points for Dedham in a 58-55 Tri-Valley League win over Millis. … Mason Melchionda notched a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds as Dover-Sherborn defeated Bellingham, 57-41.

JJ Martinez scored 30 points as St. Mary’s (Lynn) (11-5) beat Brooke Charter 74-36 in a nonleague game. After trailing 30-27, the Spartans finished the game on a 47-6 run.

Anthony Forte buried seven three-pointers and 31 total points, and Raphel Laurent recorded 17 points and eight assists as Peabody (13-2) rolled to a 69-42 Northeaste­rn Conference win over Salem. … Evan Yakavonis fired in 19 points, and Brendan Moore scored 10 points as Whitman-Hanson (12-2) handled Silver Lake 6140 in Patriot League play.

Girls basketball

Sabina Doyle made five three-pointers, helping to power Minuteman (112) to a 44-26 Commonweal­th Athletic Conference win over Innovation. … Izzy Ferguson (11 points, four rebounds) and Fiona Rexford (nine points, seven rebounds) set the tone for Shawsheen (5-9) in a 34-28 win over Greater Lowell.

In a nonleague matchup, Keisha Perez led all scorers with 11 points and Lauren Wilson added 10 to lead Lynn Classical (10-2) to a 38-33 victory over Triton. … Twins Jordan and Breanna St. Germain combined for 41 points to boost Prospect Hill Academy (13-2) past Maimonides, 55-31.

Addie Ruter (21 points) and Camryn Collins (20 points) finished in double figures, while Kailey Sullivan chipped in with nine points as Foxboro (13-1) bested Taunton 63-39 in the Hockomock League.

Bella Miniutti (13 points off the bench), Dylan Hurley (11 points) and Cassidy Briggs (eight points) led the scoring for Whitman-Hanson (11-1), and the Panthers’ defense surrendere­d only two fourthquar­ter points, sealing a 48-34 Patriot League win over Silver Lake.
