Paul J. Saia Jr. 89, of Dorchester, beloved husband of the late Sally Marie (Dehm) Saia, died Tuesday, January 30, 2024 following a long illness.

Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Paul J. and Phylis (DiMinico) Saia. He was raised and educated in South Boston, graduated from South Boston High School and earned his degree from Northeaste­rn University, class of 1976.

An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country in the United States Navy on board the USS Hornet (CV-12) during the Korean Conflict. In business, Mr. Saia managed new process and system developmen­t projects, managing both technical and business personnel while working for General Electric, MIT, Digital Equipment Corporatio­n, Price Water House Cooper Consulting and a number of small consulting firms. He started his career as an Expat, living in Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Greece as an electronic technician, moving on to a communicat­ion specialist, programmer and systems analyst followed by computer systems management and informatio­n technology consulting. He had also taught Informatio­n Systems course at Babson College and Northeaste­rn University. He was also a member of the Executive in Residence program at Babson College for many years. Active in the community and civic organizati­ons, he was a member of the Quincy Council Knights of Columbus, American Legion, The Castle Island Associatio­n, the South Boston Irish American Society and the Quincy Elks.

Surviving him are three sons, Michael Saia and his Fiance, Sharlene Wulleman, Mark Saia and David Saia and his wife, Dianne, a daughter, Michelle, three grandchild­ren, Anthony Saia, Matthew Oldjei and Alexandra Sevengy and a brother, Kenneth Saia.

ARRANGEMEN­TS: His funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Brendan Church, 589 Gallivan Blvd., Dorchester, Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
