Lozada, Ellen Marie
LUTZ, Fla. — Ellen Marie Lozada, 72, passed away on June 23, 2024, in Lutz, Fla., with her loving family by her side. She was born on September 19, 1951, in Albany, N.Y., daughter of Robert J. and Jane E. (Reed) Moore. Her life’s mission was dedicated to nurturing both people and animals with an abundance of kindness and generosity. Ellen was known for her selflessness and humility, never seeking attention but always ready to assist those in need. Her legacy of caring and compassion touched so many lives and will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Ellen graduated from Vincentian Institute High School, in Albany, N.Y., and embarked on a career path that reflected her commitment to serving others. She spent over 29 years as a Special Education Teacher at Capital Region Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES), in Albany, N.Y., profoundly impacting the lives and dreams of the students she taught. Ellen also expressed her creativity and love for the culinary arts as a pastry chef at the French Confection in Latham, N.Y. Her passion for helping extended to animals, volunteering at Pasco County Animal Services in Lake O’lakes, Fla., where she provided unconditional love to so many dogs, by spending countless hours walking and nurturing them.
Ellen was a beacon of love and wisdom to her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Rommel G. Lozada; sons, Sean and Brian Lozada; grandsons, Kiefer and Evan Lozada; siblings, Jane Victoriano, Dorothy Patterson, Nancy Yap, Marie Moore Milham, Eddie Moore, Judy Moore, Nora Baratto, Melanie Moore, Ben Moore; and her beloved dog, Queso. She was preceded in death by her son, Rommel Lozada Jr. (Hawkie); her parents, Robert J. and Jane E. (Reed) Moore; and brothers, Robert E. (Bob) Moore, Gerard J. (Jerry) Moore; and dog, Boscar.
Ellen enriched her life through travel and a lifelong pursuit of knowledge, which kept her vibrant and engaged with the world around her. A Celebration of Life will be held on September 21, 2024, in Albany, N.Y., to honor Ellen’s memory and the impact she made on so many lives.
