Winters, Janice Ruth (Babcock)
RAVENA — Janice Ruth (Babcock) Winters, 80, of Cranberry Twp., Pa. and formerly of Ravena, N.Y., went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 10, 2024. She peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family.
Born July 10, 1943, in Albany, N.Y., Janice was the daughter of the late George and Ruth Babcock.
Janice dedicated many years of employment to Erie Insurance Company until retirement. She was a very loving and caring person to all she knew and was tremendously devoted to her family. She loved camping, “snowbirding” to Florida and was an avid member of the Cranberry Twp. Fire Company Ladies’ Auxiliary.
Janice leaves behind to cherish her memory, her three sons, Bret (Lyn) Winters of Arlington, Texas, Todd (Karen) Winters of Baden, and Mark (Heather) Winters of Cranberry Township; her siblings, Sharon Dambrosio, Gail (Peter) Bullock, Marcia (Rudy) Blakesley and George (Carol) Babcock all of Ravena, N.Y., sisters-in-law, Diane Babcock of Conn., Irene Carrk of Delmar, and Carol Bruno of Ravena; and her six grandchildren, Sean, Seth, Sada, Niko, Remington and Triston.
In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Eugene A. Winters; her brother, Dennis Babcock; and brother-in-law, James Winters, Jr.
Family and friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at Devlin Funeral Home in Pennsylvania. On Friday, June 14, 2024, family and friends may call at the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena, from 4 to 7 p.m., with a funeral service to be held, 10 a.m., on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at the Congregational Christian Church, 175 Main St., Ravena, N.Y. 12143. Interment will follow in Chestnut Lawn Cemetery, New Baltimore, N.Y.
