Glogowski, John

-

WATERVLIET — John Michael Glogowski, Jr., 93, passed away in the comfort of his home on Tuesday morning, June 11, 2024. Born November 9, 1930, he was the son of the late John Sr. and Rebecca Henry Glogowski.

John dedicated himself for many years as a salesman for Home Beautifiers, Inc. in Colonie. When not hard at work, he could be found playing darts, Polka dancing, cheering on Notre Dame and the New York Giants, and taking long Sunday drives with his loved ones. Family was everything to John, and he especially loved spending time with his beloved grandchildren.

John’s cherished wife of 62 years, Gloria (Sabo) Glogowski, passed away in 2016, preceding him in death; as did three of his siblings: Mary (the late Arthur) Gavitt, Robert (survived by Esther) Glogowski, and Michael (the late Lorraine) Glogowski. He is survived by his devoted children, John (Mary) Glogowski, III of North Carolina, Stephen (Tracey) Glogowski of Ballston Lake, Mary Ann (late Dan) Schelde of Watervliet, and Theresa (Kevin) Dubuc of Watervliet; his cherished grandchildren, Andrea (David) Polanco, Jessica Glogowski, Daniel Schelde, and Sarah Schelde; his siblings, Rebecca Ciraulo (the late Sam), Stan (Angie) Glogowski, Elizabeth (the late Clyde) Heffner and Isabel Glogowski; and by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

John’s family would like to thank everyone at the Watervliet Fire Dept., Landmark, and Community Hospice for everything they’ve done to help in taking care of John.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Watervliet, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2024, with interment following the Mass in St. Agnes Cemetery. All are invited to visit with John’s family at the church for an hour before the service, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to remember John in a special way may consider a donation to the Community Hospice Foundation, 310 South Manning Blvd., Albany, N.Y. 12208.
