Frederick V. Lundgren

STOW - *February 29, 1940 - September 12, 2024* Fred V. Lundgren, of Stow, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2024, at the age of 84. Born in Akron on Leap Year, February 29, 1940, he was the son of Virgil and Elizabeth Lundgren. Fred lived a life filled with love, dedication, and compassion.

He married his beloved wife, Nancy (Wilt) Lundgren, and together they shared 62 wonderful years of marriage. They made their home in Stow in 1971, where they raised their two children. A member of the National Guard, he retired from a long career at Cordage Paper Company.

Fred had a wide range of interests that he enjoyed throughout his life. He loved fixing up old cars and taking them to local cruise-ins, collecting HO model trains, and passionate­ly cheering on his favorite sports teams, especially his beloved Browns. He cherished his time with his family, especially with his four granddaugh­ters - as well as his granddogs.

A devout Christian man, Fred was a long-time member of Grace Episcopal Church in Ravenna, Ohio, where he served as church treasurer for over 40 years and additional­ly as a member of the vestry, and other support roles up until the time of his passing.

Fred is survived by his loving wife Nancy; his brother Ken and sister inlaw Connie, his daughter Lisa Paxton, son William, his granddaugh­ters, Taylor Paxton, Paige Paxton, Jean Lundgren, and Suzy Lundgren, as well as several nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his parents, Virgil and Elizabeth and sister Barbara. His presence will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Calling hours will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Grace Episcopal Church in Ravenna, Ohio, with Rev. Carol Evans officiatin­g. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Randolph, Ohio.
