Woman in critical condition after shooting Tuesday in East Akron
A shooting Tuesday morning in East Akron left a 33year-old woman hospitalized in critical condition, according to Akron police.
Authorities responded to reports of a shooting in the 800 block of Concord Avenue at about 9:50 a.m. When officers got to the scene, they discovered the victim with a gunshot wound to the head. She was subsequently transported to Akron City Hospital.
Police later apprehended a 45-year-old woman and questioned her at the police station. Detectives are still working to determine what led to the shooting
The investigation is ongoing.
Akron man pleads not guilty in fatal Inman Street shooting
A 32-year-old Akron man is accused of shooting and killing Roland Williams, 41, in the early morning hours of March 17 at Inman Street and East Archwood Avenue.
Kaylon Adams pleaded not guilty Tuesday in Summit County Court of Common Pleas to aggravated murder, murder, felony murder and felonious assault — each with firearm specifications that could carry additional prison time if he is found guilty — according to court documents. He is also charged with having weapons while under disability.
Co-defendant Endessia Atkins is charged with obstructing justice and tampering with evidence.
Summit County Common Pleas Judge Alison Breaux is presiding over the cases.
26-year-old woman arrested, charged in Kenmore shooting
A 26-year-old woman was arrested in connection to a shooting in Kenmore on Tuesday evening, according to Akron police.
Officers responded to reports of an individual with a gun on the porch of a residence in the 2000 block of 18th Street SW at about 9:43 p.m. Before arriving at the scene, police were told that the suspect had fired their weapon multiple times. The suspect was apprehended without incident.
Officers determined the home had been struck three times.
The suspect was charged with felonious assault, aggravated trespass, aggravated menacing, discharging a firearm and criminal damaging.
