Gary S. Ondecker

-

GREEN - Gary Ondecker, 68, passed away on July 5, 2024. He was born in Akron on November 19, 1955, to the late James and Jeanette Ondecker.

Gary was the force that made things happen in life and now in death. He has passed to his final resting place, the heavenly 19th hole. He loved intensely and was completely loved by his family and friends. When Gary was not enjoying golf, he spent much of his time playing with his grandchildren, teaching life lessons, and loving every moment. Some of his most treasured moments were spent on his golf cart and working in his yard alongside his grandson. Gary has taught us through all of his acts and words to love hard, be grateful for every moment, and smile even when it hurts

Gary is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Teresa Ondecker, children Zachary Bodo; Challi (Adam) Kieffer; Jocelyn Schnell and Justin Banar; brothers, Bob (Sandy) and Paul (Kelli) Ondecker; sisters, Sue (Dave) Kline, Nancy (Bill) Sloan, Jean (Tim) Angel and Karen (Jerry) Wages; grandchildren, Meredith, Madyson, Gracie, Owen, Cooper, Parker, Luke, and Decklan; his dog that he never wanted, Bella; as well as many nieces, nephews, and countless friends.

Teresa would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to all who helped support and care for Gary during the last three years. Each of you made our journey a little easier during his life and now in his passing. Also, to the nurses and staff of Crossroads Hospice, especially Justin, Candice, Mary, and Gabby for the love and care they provided to Gary and the family.

“I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.” Jeremiah 31:3
