CUYAHOGA FALLS - Arlen Miller, 84, passed away on April 10, 2024. Arlen was born on August 12, 1939, in McAlevy’s Fort, Pennsylvan­ia, son of the late Albert and Madeline Miller. He relocated to Ohio in 1964 yet always considered himself and Sue part of the history of “the valley”.

As a devout Christian, he led a life of a loving husband, father, grandfathe­r, friend, mentor, and role model. Arlen forever impacted the lives of the countless many, humbly, under the grace of God. He was a proud West Point graduate serving in two tours of Vietnam before resigning his commission as a Captain Major of the Army Rangers to dedicate his life to family. Arlen also spent time teaching ROTC at the University of Akron, was involved in many community organizati­ons and was a dedicated mentor and member of AA for 34 years. His hobbies and love of life included the game of golf, fishing trips with his children and grandchild­ren, family beach gatherings, endless hikes with his golden retrievers, storytelli­ng and sharing life experience­s. He will forever be missed as he was loved by many and left an imprint on everyone he touched until the day he passed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Susan Miller of 61 years after 6 years of courtship, brother Ken Miller, grandson Ricky Fraley, and his four-legged companions Max, Tiger, Jake, and Ben.

Arlen will be deeply missed by his loving children, Deborah McClure, David (Tracy) Miller, Douglas (Robin) Miller; sister, Renee Miller; grandchild­ren, Nicklas Miller, and Spencer, Bryce and Bryan McClure; and many extended family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, other remembranc­e memorials may be made to Christ Community Chapel, 750 W. Streetsbor­o Street, Hudson, Ohio 44236.

There will be a memorial visitation on Saturday, April 20, 2024, from 11am to 1pm with services immediatel­y following at the Clifford Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front Street, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44221
