Dolores M. Long (nee Bode), passed away at 98 on March 13th in Memory Care at The Gables of Green. She was born on January 31, 1926 in Akron, Ohio.

Dolores is survived by her sons, Donald (Denise) Long and Gary (Kathy) Long; grandchild­ren, Melanie (Stefan) Thomas, Chad (Angie) Long, Kristin (Robert) Lauck, Sean Long, Jennifer (Chris) Muckley, several great grandchild­ren, as well as many loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of seventy-some years, Earl Long, her parents, Forest and Josephine Bode, brother, Harold, and sister, Sandra Gray.

Dolores loved gardening and was a talented artist, often painting and creating craft projects alongside her husband. She enjoyed keeping a warm and inviting home, spending time with her family, as well as evenings playing cards with neighbors and friends. Being a truly adventurou­s person, Dolores liked traveling with her husband to places such as their condo in Florida and visits to family in Arizona and California. She loved animals and owned dogs throughout her life.

A heartfelt thank you to the Traditions Health Hospice caregivers and the staff at the Gables of Green who’ve taken such good care of Dolores.

The funeral service will be held at Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St. Wadsworth 44281 at 12 Noon on Wednesday, March 20, 2024. Calling hours will precede the service from 11 AM-12 Noon. Burial at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Traditions Health Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Associatio­n.
